As two differing sides to the emotive spectrum, there is plenty here to dive into, and helps to serve us up very nicely indeed to their latest effort, ‘Sunswell’, their first record together in three years. Inkeeping with their most recent efforts, the duo waste no time in bringing forward some truly special vibes, with the title track kicking things off in spectacular fashion. Simmering, engrossing synths start preceedings, before a delightful breakbeat slides into view underneath, with 90s leaning vocal samples fuelling the momentum as we slide onwards and upwards. The additional key work which comes into view around the half way mark ensures that the heart and the soul are both very much fulfilled.

Closing off Dam Swindle's 3rd 'Keep On Swindling' installment is DJ Bone’s Doc Ciroc remix of ‘The Wrap Around’. DJ Bone goes for pacey percussion with a classic Detroit Techno feel. His version is minimalistic and raw, chopping up the vocal and using the original Prophet pad as a base layer of warmth. The track gets even beefier when the bassline comes in: A dirty modded 101 lick with so much electronic funk that makes it impossible not that dance.

Sydney club-kid James Pepper has delivered his first instalment of CLUB TRAX, featuring 4 house-heavy originals which are ready and designated for dance floors.

James’ first instalment of Club Trax sees him introduce 4 driving house cuts - full of power, warmth and euphoria, giving us an insight into the inspirations that have surrounded JP’s upbringing within the dance music community. Through using his “less is more” approach, we are enriched by four tracks that are hosted by simple yet effective elements that make up a powerful EP full of club originals, which are suitable to be played on large systems in big dance-halls, as well as within the smaller-scale, intimate environments.

The epitome of James’s introduction to the world of dance music came after he unleashed his club-hit Three Drops during the broadcasting of his debut Boiler Room in his home-town, Sydney. Co-written by Black Loops, James would return to his home away from home and visit his old friend Black Loops (Riccardo) in Berlin, where he would begin writing his Club Trax EP. James would begin the creative process Riccardo’s studio while he was away touring throughout the European summer. James began to fall in love with the studio’s hardware offerings, and in particular - Riccardo’s Roland MC909. The prominent early 2000s groovebox would become the centre piece of production work that makes up the Club Trax EP.

After returning home to Sydney, JP’s first order of business was to purchase a second hand MC909 from Japan, and begin finishing what he has started in Berlin. With tracks Zwarte Pad & Praise You being an ode to the sound he holds dearest, James attempted to recreate the prominent 90s club-record sound, whilst also offering his own input in the process.

The remainder of the EP sees tracks Residential Advisor & EVERYONE I LOVE give us an insight into a more new-school era, potentially alluding us to where James could be heading next - whilst also keeping it true to this heavily referenced 90s sound.

After understanding JPs love for dance music and the influences that got him to where he is today, it will be exciting to hear and see the reactions of this club-record on dance-floors across the world. No frills, just straight forward dance classics & driving house hits, as James Pepper delivers his first instalment of CLUB TRAX VOLUME ONE.

DJ & producer Dave DK has been making waves in the electronic music scene for a couple of years now. Since the early 90's he was fascinated by the upcoming techno movement, which eventually led to his own active initiation. 1995 was the starting point for the then 17 year old. Together with a longtime friend, Dave produced his first tracks and was involved in the organization of underground techno and house partys, constantly trying to spread and push new electronic music.
Searching for new electronic sounds every day and having honed his skills as a producer in his chosen home Berlin, Dave released his first record on Müller Records in 1998. His DJ activities had been highly pushed since that time. In 1999 he became a resident DJ at Tresor/Globus club in Berlin, later on also at the legendary Panorama Bar. Beside his remix productions for Beroshima and Skiebäck he released records on raum...musik., Decore, Lifetime Music and Cadeaux.
As Dave is an open minded person who resents musical limits, he doesn’t want to be reduced to one style. His sound simply is the result of different styles that have influenced him throughout the years. "I have a passion for the wide range between house and techno as well as pop music and dancefloor stuff of the early 90's", says Dave.
Though he’s elegantly juggling a variety of electronic music to create his own style, in his tracks he often combines tragic melodies with kickin’ grooves that transform your body into a twisting stampede of electricity, with trademark swing and warm funk.
The year 2000 can be marked as the first highlight in his career: his debut album "sensory overload“ had been released on Müller Records and there were musical excursions on Cologne’s Television label as well as on the Barcelona based Regular label. Dave is now currently recording for Moodmusic and also on Playhouse (a collaboration with Holger „Smash TV“ Zilske) which brings him even closer to his idea of electronic house tunes.
In November 2007 Dave released his second album „Lights and Colours“ on Moodmusic.
For Dave DK, music is a model of living in which he’s able to enhance his skills in order to realise his vision of modern electronic club and home entertainment – expect more fantastic music in the very near future. Late 2010 saw the release of Dave’s first Mix CD on Moodmusic called RETAKE ONE.
In 2013 Dave has been signed to Kompakt, releasing his first 12“ on the Cologne based imprint in July.

Deep House Proposal is honored to present the That Body EP from Cure-Shot, a legendary DJ pioneer of the Istanbul house music scene. Cure-Shot, AKA Kursat Gencel, started playing techno and house music in Istanbul in 1990 with his brother Tangun, and proceeded to hold down residencies at a series of legendary clubs through the years. He can certainly be considered part of Istanbul’s ‘first generation house DJs,’ and the current, vibrant scene looks to him as a trail-blazer who is still setting musical trends. Deep House Proposal’s label manager Berk Doan remembers regularly sneaking into clubs at the age of 17 to hear Cure-Shot play and would have never believed that now, thirteen years later, his label would be responsible for the DJ’s latest release.

This latest EP opens with “That Body,” a bouncy deep house number that slinks and shakes with bonafide late night appeal. Layers of atmosphere and sonic flourishes abound, as male and female vocal snippets pop in and out of the mix like midnight transmissions. This strong track earns a trio of remix treatments with the first courtesy of renowned Berlin producer Sasse (Moodmusic). Sasse adds a pulsating rhythm and mesmerizing chords that swell and fall through the track’s build. The breakdown introduces some lovely melodic elements that put the icing on the sonic cake. The next version of “That Body” comes from Alex Arnout (Composite Records, Turquoise Blue) who uses a drum machine pattern, an echoing treatment of the vocal snippet, and scintillating synth pads to create an evocative aural soundscape. Deep House Proposal’s own Berk Doan is on hand for the third remix, taking things into an even deeper, after hours realm. Subtly buzzing key lines, a solid sub bass, and swirling tones all find places within the wide, expressive space that Berk creates in his production.

Closing out the EP is a bonus track from Cure-Shot, the appropriately titled “Deeper Dreams. The solid, rolling low end with sparkles of processed sound overhead seems to be Cure-Shot’s technique, creating a suggestive deep house ambience that should gratify the true ‘heads’ filling the dance floor. A pensive spoken female vocal phrase and lush splashes of reverb help make “Deeper Dreams” a classic house music effort, further branding the EP as a premium grade release. With Cure-Shot on board, Deep House Proposal continues to impress … there’s much more to come from the heart of Istanbul and out of your speakers.
