Remix of the Original "Mortal Kombat" theme to a dance/electro style beat, featuring phat bass.

I've always wanted to remix the MK theme, it was one of the first tunes I learned how to play on a piano. I'm aware there are thousands of remixes, but I felt that none of them had the thing I was looking for... So I made it myself and wau! It's so clubby; I literally couldn't have tried to make it better if I wanted to. I thought about making another MK remix on the other end of the scale... Slow and sombre... But I decided against it. So enjoy my take on the iconic theme!

Mortal Kombass (Mortal Kombat Theme | XRM Remix) || Dance/EDM

Kept this one for like 6 months but never posted it because I felt I couldn't add to it, so here it is..! 

This was the first song I made outside of the 'normal' major and minor scale. It uses what's known as the "phrygian mode". I don't know much music theory, but I think this mode/scale makes quite an interesting contrast to the regular scale(s) and throws a somewhat middle eastern twist on it.

Not really sure what tags this should have, so yeah. Also, it seems that SoundCloud is not compressing my music nicely and it's producing artefacts in the audio. Basically what this means is that there is noise and loss of quality when comparing this track to the original uncompressed file. But either way,  enjoy :)

Liquid Phrygian

Liquid Phrygian || Instrumental Trap

120BPM dance track with 9-way unison square wave as the lead, supersaw as the strings and heavy sidechaining on major track elements.

This is actually a very old song of mine. I was recently looking for older stuff that had potential, found this and decided to continue with it. I salvaged what I could, it's still not perfect, but if I did anything more to it, it would ruin the original flow of the track. Hope you like it anyway :)

Psilocyber

Hard trap style track with a drop strong enough to level a city. 'Exotic' phrygian dominant scale (which is typically used in Eastern and Arabic music) gives a unique twist on the track structure and melody.

Armageddon

'Tropical' hardstyle track with heavy emphasis on melody progression and a kick/bassline combo to break your neck.

Broken Neck

Very chill Lo-Fi song with a chord structure consisting of 7ᵗʰ and 9ᵗʰ for a 'jazzier' feel, a soft melody duet using a lowpassed square wave and supersaw, and a very smooth bass to tie it all together.

Trap-style track with the bass equivalent of the Tsar Bomb being dropped on you.

Created using Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 SFX; 25 kill streak "warning" sound, "Tactical nuke incoming!", and a few other soldier call-outs. Custom 'air raid' siren included to give the extra impression that an actual nuke is on the way, with huge bass for extra impact.

Tactical Nuke (MW2 Remix)|| Instrumental Trap

Heavy 'Melbourne Bounce' EDM track with a huge drop and timing change mid-way through the drop.

Melbourne Bounce is a 'simple' sub-genre of EDM music, but it's very hard to capture that iconic sound correctly. While this mix isn't perfect, I think it does a very good job at being a highly uplifting dance track. Off-beat bass is a staple of Melbourne Bounce, as well as a vocal lead synth and a very clicky/punchy 4-on-the-floor kick.

Mid-way through the drop, this track goes from regular 4/4 time to 3/4 "Waltz" time and it massively boosts the 'pumping' effect of the entire mix. The ribbon-bass, as well as all hi-hats, melody off-beats and delay effects are shifted in such a way to line up to this new timing mode every time it happens.

Tape Machine || Melbourne Bounce

Lava melting your flesh, damned and tormented souls, completely dark, yet simultaneously bright enough to burn out your retinas? Welcome to the Underworld.

Inspired from one of the tracks from the popular voxel-based survival game, "Minecraft"; upon entering the Nether, a song will eventually play that's somewhat melodic, with leitmotifs running throughout, yet still eerie enough to fit the atmosphere the game generates.

I tried to create a track that captures this essence, but in my own style. Long sweeping chords, bass strong enough to rattle your very being, and muted/reverb saturated percussion to add to the atmosphere. Quite a dark track, if you ask me.

Underworld

Underworld || Dark Ambience

Odd mix of genres, ranging from House, IDM, Techno and Chill. The tempo-shift half way though the track during the breakdown allows for a unique secondary drop, adding to the overall flavour of the entire track

This track is very melodic, with dynamically changing lead instruments depending on the energy of a specific section. Lots of complex chords gives much needed tonal dissonance to allow for strong tonic resolution and progression; stepping outside of the key every now to then land on the leading tone, 1 semi-tone below the root note.

Enchanted || Tempo-Shift EDM

Let the Riddim take control and plunge you into a swirling vortex of heavy bass and power chords.

NOTE: This is probably the last track I will upload to SC because A) SC's compression is absolutely terrible and B) This only barely squeezed into the amount of time I had left. If I want to upload more, older, inferior works will be deleted; starting from least listen to or one I dislike the most.

This is the first time I've ever completed a Riddim "Dubstep" track. I wanted to keep it simple and to its Riddim roots, but it was just too boring, so I spiced it up with a custom scale melody (based off natural minor, phrygian dominant and harmonic minor).

Definitely one of the more "hard hitting" songs I've made that's not some offshoot of hardstyle of heavy dance, and I'm really happy how it turned out.

I typically make Ambient/Space, Chill, Dance, EDM, Trap(rare), Hardstyle (very rare) and generally strange electronic music that I can never figure out what genre it belongs to.

--Disclaimer--
My older works are quite bad, if I'm honest... But that's only because the music I make in the present is much better than it was a few years ago. My 'skill' has improved, and there's still a lot more to be done to get better, but I'm at a point now where I can make a song that I like and feel has no faults, other than bad mixing from time to time.

--History--
I've only been doing this "properly" since around 2015. But I've always had a knack for making music. First time I ever made a song was back in 2011, on an old PS3 game known as Little Big Planet 2. It had something similar to FL Studio; a music sequencer. You would place notes down in the same way you would in FL, so when I first got FL, I had somewhat of an idea on what I was doing.

I've put a lot of effort in self-learning music theory and I make a great effort to improve my 'production value' with each new track I make. This includes but is not limited to using alternate music scales, properly mixing/mastering, finding more efficient ways to organise the sequencer ("playlist" in FL), fine tuning effects or by using interesting chord progressions with quiet/subtle 7ths and 9ths.
