Guest Mix Series: 023 w/ Synonymix (QLD)

Australian producer and stalwart of the dark side, Xsetra, makes his debut on the label with the Yōtei EP. Featuring four impeccable heaters sure to make a statement in any dance, this release showcases some of his most impressively crafted minimal to date.

Hailing from Darkinjung country (Central Coast, AU) and now based in Mulubinba (Newcastle), Jamayne is a drum and bass DJ and producer with a sound that blends stripped-back minimalism, melodic hooks, and punchy bass textures. Drawing influence from the evolving edge of the scene - particularly the more minimal and jump-up inspired soundscapes - his sets are full of contrast, tension, and groove.

Starting out playing house parties and open decks, Jamayne has steadily been developing his style, leaning into weighty subs, sharp leads, and off-kilter experimental tones that carry a playful "frog" energy while still staying emotive and dancefloor-ready.

Some of his darker sound selections fall into the same creative current as Australian artists like Ncrypt, Strafe, Sistym, OHCULT, and KreliaS - part of a new wave of DJs and producers exploring tech-driven atmospheres with a refined, minimal edge.

With a deep appreciation for the genre and its community, Jamayne is focused on contributing meaningfully to the growing drum and bass movement across Australia.

Thierry D has been quietly involved in Eora's (Sydney AU) underground scene for more than two decades now. He started out back in the late '90s when rave culture was really taking hold, and since then, he's been focused on making bass-heavy, broken beat music that speaks for itself. Over the years, he's been fortunate enough to have played a bunch of events that mean a lot to the local community including events hosted by Afterlife, Reload Bass, SHOOK and Deep Space Events as well as Psyfari in 2014 and 2015, Defqon.1 in 2014, and Subtropics Festival in both 2022 and 2023, among others. Back in 2013, he ran a radio show on Bondi Beach Radio, which gave him a platform to share music he believed in and connect with others in the scene.

In 2012, Thierry took a step further by founding The Elements Of Tech & Bass - which has evolved into both a label and an event series. It's been a project close to his heart, aimed at supporting and growing the underground bass community in Australia. Through that, and on other labels like Jungle Cakes, Audio Overload, Jungle Records, Division Bass Digital, Dubstomp 2 Bass, and Music For Change Recordings, Thierry's been able to release music that’s honest and straightforward.

What drives him is a genuine love for the sound itself - tracks that have weight, that hit hard in the chest, and that create real moments for people.
