In "The Still Dark Waters Speak" by Jeremias Langsämmer, echoes of Hans Zimmer's cinematic touch reverberate through a poignant orchestral canvas. The piano takes center stage, casting its luminous glow over a backdrop of gentle strings and subtle synths.

The piano's melodies delicately weave through a somber string drone, evoking a sense of melancholy tempered by glimpses of hope. Each note carries a weight of emotion, resonating with longing and introspection. Meanwhile, the strings provide a tender support, their harmonies rising and falling in sync with the piano's plaintive refrain.

Within this musical landscape, Langsämmer crafts a narrative of contrasts—sorrow and resilience, despair and determination. Through the simplicity of piano over strings and gentle synth, "The Still Dark Waters Speak" offers a poignant reflection on the complexities of the human experience, leaving an indelible impression on the listener's heart.

Mattr's follow up to his 'Colos EP' release earlier this year focuses on intricate drum programming, heavy bass and syncopated rhythms. Using granular synthesis he fuses found sounds with delicate vocal flutters to create an atmospheric and expansive sounding record.
