The young but impressive Madorasindahouse Records hits a superb seventh release with Yamil the man behind the beats. He is a Spaniard who has been delivering plenty of slick deep house on labels like Deeperfect and elrow Music and impresses once more here. 

Open Amaru is a deep rolling tune with splashing hits and distant bird calls lending it a tropical feel. KwaZulu is another hugely atmospheric cut with loose percussion and enchanting grooves taking you deep. It’s warm and has great female vocal sounds stitched in so will be perfect for cosier dance floors. Last of all Triber ups the ante with more driven drums and great synth sequences stepping up and down the chords. All in all then, this is a fantastic new EP.

 The Moonlight Records 2019 Spring Sampler demonstrates the Calgary label's ability to assemble subversive dance music that traverses both the globe and generations of artists. The EP's four tracks showcase veteran producers alongside emerging forces, homegrown Canadian talent alongside international figures, and shades of dance music that cover the spectrum from deep house to techno.
 
The soulful deep house offering 'All Your Shit' from Barcelona-based Funk D'Void is ingrained with the boldness and substance of a producer that's been active since the mid 90's. Punctuated by a voice repeating the phrase 'all your shit sounds the same,' the track is a lounge-worthy medley of jazzy, organic instrumentation, deep baselines, and groove-inducing hi-hats.
 
Of the EP's four artists, Techno producer Kloves is the relative newcomer of the list. In the three years since their debut they've assembled a prolific catalogue of hard-hitting European-styled techno releases across numerous international labels, including a remix on Rennie Foster's recent Moonlight release Crisis Actors. 'Reform,' with its hauntingly immersive chord progressions that stretch out over the track's dominating kick-drum, is peak-time techno that overflows with progressive, cinematic flair.
 
Winnipeg-based Joe Silva's career as a producer harkens back to the mid 90's, and since 2004 he's often appeared as one half of the tech-house duo Tonepushers. His solo offering 'One Day' stands in a category of its own, combining peak tempo, kick-drum driven percussion with layers of deep instrumentation. Rising chords, droning melodies, and fleeting organs make this track a journey in itself.
 
Derrick Thompson, also known as Drivetrain, founded Detroit's Soiree Records at a time when the city was just beginning to attract international attention. In the 28 years since its creation the label has served as a constant platform for the motor city techno sound. As such, 'Dark N Cloudy' is as authentically Detroit as you can hope to find. Raw, hard hitting percussion drives the track as distorted notes reminiscent of acid house linger in the air, striking a balance between minimalism and unhinged revelry.
 
The unique and refined character imbued in each of these four tracks shows why Moonlight Records is increasingly drawing the attention of longtime dance music fans and new ravers alike.

Berlin-based producer Markus Binapfl aka Kaiser Souzai has been turning heads aplenty over the last few years courtesy of his infectious, unpredictable and always memorable techno sound. The man behind the Ballroom label, his music has brought him as far afield as Thailand and Australia recently, with his winter tour further endearing his talents to new fans around the globe. Fresh from a recent release on Boris’ always on-point Transmit Records, the man in question makes his debut here on the Layer 909 label with a release that’s notable for its many dexterous flourishes as well as the producer’s unique take on techno.

Featuring 2 monster driving techno tracks that we are certain will make some noise this summer, Souzai has been a firm favourite of the label for some time, and this release, entitled the Mind Control EP, is a perfect double track release, with both cuts emphasising the label’s reputation for ‘big room’ techno sounds. 'Renegade Carl' takes front seat with a full bloodied, driving Techno vibe that builds and builds using clever fills and dark 303 stabs and overtones, which works towards a drop of massive proportions.

'Mind Control' is a more progressive, trippy techno affair. Lead by a deep, dark bassline and hypnotic vocal hooks, which build and swirl around throws of acid and tribal esq stabs, it showcases another side of the producer’s production arsenal with some esteem. Sure to win Souzai even more fans this summer, it’s a release that further enhances both the artist and the label’s stellar reputations.
