Sea of Swords is a project which was sparsely developed over the last 3 ys. The authors never met each other during the whole period. In a slow, waving form music turned into data and viceversa across the shores. 
It is built as an exploration of possible sounds of mostly traditional instruments into and beyond their physical limitations, with negligible use of synthesizers. 

It’s a further secret kept in public.

This release is the fourth from Sound Interpretation series dedicated to cities. We believe that each city has its own unique air. But anyone who works with the sound knows that every city has a inimitable soundscape and rhythm. 

The title refers to a bridge in a peaceful garden, where the 9 turns hinder demons, so they can't reach the living creatures passing by..

Xu(e) draws its fundamental inspiration from taoism, but aims to explore whatever represents a meaningful contradiction. The duo is formed by Xu (Nicola Fornasari) + Xue (Andrea Poli).  The two have not been seeing each other for some years now and have developed a kind of alchemical, asynchronous remote collaboration as a creative process where time and space play almost no role.

This project was based on an information exchange. Some of the acoustic and sampled instruments ran through _Derivations MAX/MSP Patch Ben Carey. (BenCarey.net) Sonic materials were then sculpted, layered and arranged.

Xu(e) draws its fundamental inspiration from taoism, but aims to explore whatever represents a meaningful contradiction. It is a unity of opposites, aside from a thesis/anthitesis/synthesis approach. It is a rational method to deal with the irrational.

The duo is formed by long time friends Xu (Nicola Fornasari) + Xue (Andrea Poli). Its activity focuses on audio and, in the early years,  visual experimentation. The two have not been seeing each other for some years now and have developed a kind of alchemical, asynchronous remote collaboration as a creative process, where time and space play almost no role.
