As co-founder of the MNML SSGS blog, Chris SSG was at the heart of dance music's most pressing discussions and cutting edge sounds from 2007 - 2012. Though originally from Melbourne, he has been based between Osaka and Tokyo for some time. It is in that city that he has hosted a number of events while also playing his own ambient, techno and experimental sets further afield around Japan as well as at European clubs like Nachtdigital, Sustain-Release and Berghain.  

He says of this week's mix, "Half-jokingly I describe my style as ‘big room ambient’. Well, for two years, I did not play in any rooms, big or small. Then, finally I did, again, and this was what happened. This is the recording of an extended extended ambient and deep space session at a chill out party in Tokyo. I tried to play in a way that really captures my approach to playing ambient, moving between different energies and making contrasts, while featuring many of my favourite artists. This was a special experience for me, and I am very grateful to be able to share it with you." And he does just that over the course of four absorbing and compelling hours. Myriad different worlds are explored from textured and tense to blissed out and beautiful, but the whole mix is held together with a narrative arc that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Sunju Hargun has over fifteen years of experience DJing, he has showcased his skills across the globe, from space-out sets in jungles to power psychedelic music in abandoned warehouses. From Asia to Europe, Panorama Bar to Organik Festival, Sunju has illustrated how his unique cross-fusion of cultures and musical blends is loved across multiple continents.

Building on his own Thai and Bangkok identity, with Indian and Japanese roots, Sunju, himself a fusion of various cultures across the Asian continents, has been one of the leading regional actors, ensuring that cross-pollination and collaboration have become essential facets of the Southeast Asian scene, with inspiration and energy regularly transmitting between cities and crews.

Beyond his love for DJing and bringing his musically diverse pallet to the dance floors, his labor-of-love projects, Karma Klique, and @siamesetwinsrecords, also are finding an ever-growing foundation in the pan-Asian electronic music scene, fostering human and musical connections across the region and beyond.

This is the recording of my set at Terraforma.
it's been a truly great experience for me and therefore i decided to share it on here.
It's difficult to feel the energy out of a recording because techno is one ingredient that combined with the moment, the crowd and the place creates the magic...But i hope it will help you to get at least a taste of what it'd been like.

I've always admired Madteo's capacity to produce near-weekly mixes from wax found in flea markets with his $treetwax series. Here's my own take from a recent €dig in Milano's Metropolis Dischi, a wonderful basement full of dusty records.
Some records skip, some crackle, and others sound like they’ve taken a serious beating even after 3 swipes, but hey for a € or two it’s a bargain!

Closing set at Organik Festival 2019 in Hualien, Taiwan. Last 1,5 hours was a b2b with Diskonnected. 

Picture this: A slow steep drive down through a narrow jungle path, 
the sound of distant ocean waves, frogs, and insects is all you hear until suddenly the jungle opens up and you've arrived at Organik Festival.

Located on a secluded beach on the Taiwan east coast facing the seemingly infinite Pacific with awesome mountain rocks and jungle kneeling to it. A beast of a brand new model Funktion One sound system tuned to perfection and a rare gathering of the most loving and kind people you can imagine. 

This is the spirit of Organik. Nature, quality, peace, and a big coherent mix of dreamy techno, ambient, experimental, house, and disco. Personally have I never experienced a better festival. Was such a pleasure and honour to close the festival on a late Sunday night playing after Dorisburg. I got around different styles and wanted to play a non linear set and instead take people on a journey. I hope you feel some of the festival vibe in the recording.

The last hour and a half my friend and Smoke Machine Taiwan resident joined me in a b2b showing a rare housy side of his palette.

S.A.M. @ Organik Festival 2019 (CLOSING SET!)

Ever since his first visit to Olganitz, So (@satoshiaoyagi) has been a close friend of the Nachti family - joining us for some of our club dates as well as, of course, for the last edition of our beloved summer celebration. After opening our Open Air Stage on Friday, we also asked him to play a second set on our Ambient Stage on Saturday - and he did it with just so much elegance and grace as we know from his dancefloor sets.
