Human Leather's Lazy Karaoke is the the ultimate homage to the 80's, transporting you flawlessly from dark underground clubs to the tropical beaches of a neon lit daydream. Human Leather is near goth pop perfection, reminding us of the days Depeche Mode were not just a band, but the biggest band in the world


Salt Lake City's Human Leather brings us nine-songs of heartbreaking danceable beauty on their debut full length Lazy Karaoke. The duo of Adam Klopp (Choir Boy) & Chaz Costello (Sculpture Club), who share in vocal duties, guitar, as well as programming, present the listener with a fantasy karaoke night, sonically and also aesthetically. Written starting in 2015, the songs are infectious, singing along almost mandatory. Lazy Karaoke is an melancholic celebration drawing on influences as diverse as mainstream pop icons like Whitney Houston and Cyndi Luaper to Orchestral Maneouvers in the Dark and Tears for Fears to italo disco such as Valerie Dore. Tracks like Astral Pain and Rotted Youth are bursting with life and enthusiasm – the album is a emotive daydreamy dose of pop, dance style and even R&B that come together to produce an unusual and catchy set of songs. As Adam Klopp says, "In the spirit of karaoke and pop stardom we wanted no shame or internal scrutiny". Lazy Karaoke shines through with gorgeous melody and heartfelt beats leaving us unencumbered. The full length will be accompanied by five music videos as a visual companion to the record.

Experimental Products has always been a massive influence on us from the very 1st time we heard them back in the 80s. Glowing in the Dark, in particular changed everything for us. Mark Wilde and Michael Gross were way ahead of their time. We wanted to pay tribute to them by re-creating this song from scratch. It will be officially released digitally, along with the instrumental version, on Worker Droides records April 6, 2018 with a short run vinyl release on Kode soon after.
