A’ano’nin is the seventh stage in a personal quest through the Tunnels of Set, involving several kinds of consciousness alteration mechanisms.

A’ano’nin is animal joy, it is harmony with instincts and with what you really desire. However, there is a catch. The object cause of desire is always sliding from one superficial object to the next and always remains unnatainable. Reaching the object you think you desire with all your might doesn’t satiate you: it makes the emptiness even clearer and stronger.

This theme’s lyrics come from the Book of the Law by Aleister Crowley, and are performed by Loli-chan in her “hysterical reading” of said book, using a vibrator as she reads. Saksaksalim deals with becoming one with all perception, but it could be better described as the opposite: destroying the identification with a body as a partial object of perception. Therefore, it might be more of a dis-identification than an identification of the self with everything.

The tunnel of Niantiel is the ninth stage in a personal quest through the Tunnels of Set, which involves several methods which aim towards consciousness alteration.

Niantiel is about death. It is not about philosophical abstractions on what death might be about. It is about death as a hard unappealable blow, as a shock that you cannot negotiate with. No buts, no discussion, no tricks, no games to deal with it. Just death, herself deaf to any and every word of reason. An apparent limit to the free creation of realities that is shown through Saksaksalim. The only thing that can't be appealed, which just hits you mercilessly so that the only thing you can do is to try find some way to build yourself back after you've been shattered.

Malkunofat represents the tenth stage in a personal quest through the Tunnels of Set, involving several kinds of consciousness alteration methods.

Malkunofat here is sacrifice. It is liberating yourself from all your garments, as Inanna did when she descended to the Underworld in order to learn the secrets of death from her sister Ereshkigal. Thus, this tunnel may cut off heartlessly from you the things that you do not really need, so that you can grow further.

Lafcursiax is the ninth stage in a personal quest through the Tunnels of Set, involving several kinds of consciousness alteration methods.

It is creative chaos, yet it is also the idea that even though everything seems filled with endless possibilities, many of them might be empty choices. Beware!

In my personal experience Lafcursiax also meant the idea that even if trapped in a labyrinth, the only choice would be to keep on fighting and loving until the very end.

A world full of stars yet only one that is the true path. A Star inside a labyrinth, how could I find it without my eyes of light? A path on the True Will, on learning the purpose for which power has been bestowed.

y3mk - Hemethterith (15th Tunnel of Set)

This is the first song in an ongoing series on the Tunnels of Set. It has been created as the result of a personal exploration of the tunnel of Thantifaxath, which deals with day-by-day zombiefication in society. Many let themselves become trapped in the machine: becoming stable, stiff, stagnant, forgetting the amazement with life that characterized their childhoods. In the tunnel of Thantifaxath there is the forgetting of Neverland, the growing adult misspelled as transforming from a child to an idiot. As its absolute opposite stands Initiation and the magical world, and this contrasts as beauty arises midway in the song.

This song corresponds to the tunnel of Shalicu in an ongoing series on the Tunnels of Set. It has been created as the result of a personal exploration of the tunnel of Shalicu, which is related with fire, judgement, and the disruption of mental conditionings. Shalicu is the death of personality through fire, but it is also resurrection and the hope of leaving every attachment behind, therefore the promise of freedom. It is a journey through the Underworld, a cleansing which deconstructs the individual and even shatters him into pieces with which he can build again from scratch. Only the finest aspirations survive the ordeal of Shalicu.

Raflifu is the Sun in Amenta, which dawns in the darkest moment, when you really need the Sun to rise. This place, the third in my exploration of the Tunnels of Set, points to Self in all its Otherness, pouring the whole of your unwavering will over what you are doing so that reality slides towards it getting done. To do things you cannot do precisely because you can't. Sun magick. Centered, the internal opening that is required to see with the "eyes of light", the awe which lets you behold the heavenly glory in everything around you.

Qulielfi is the fourth stage in a travel through the Tunnels of Set. It is a strong breakdown of dogma in the depths of the unconscious. It is a letting go. The moon unmasked, the powers that subtly balance, the action unseen. The power to enchant the world in your silence, thus dragging it wherever you wish. Changing under the surface that which seems unchangeable. A secret place.

Tzuflifu is the fifth stage in a personal exploration of the Tunnels of Set. 

Tzuflifu is about acting, its about building from scratch, and its about balance and maturity in being human. There is maturing, there is leadership, but not as its usually understood. Though the light side of this tunnel be the Emperor, the correct integration of the dark energies in Tzuflifu merges both the male and female into a fully developed human who leads through example, not by fear nor by any of the artificial mechanisms of order and authority we are unfortunately used to. "The world changes with your example, not with your opinion".

It is a self-confidence which doesn't require wild gesticulations nor patronizing attitudes. It doesn't need gods nor any other external crutches. It is the calm determination to be who you are, not the excessive assertiveness from the secretly insecure. Riding life with the maturity from an individual who knows himself to wield the reins of the horse that's carrying him.

In Tzuflifu the gods are your equals. Slave-mentality can be no more. Neither god nor man is worth kneeling, and there are no excuses: you are responsible of your own acts.

Parfaxitas is the sixth stage in a personal quest through the Tunnels of Set, involving several kinds of consciousness alteration mechanisms.

Parfaxitas deals with the animal mind, an inner beast hidden in the very depth of a forgotten forest. It is not some fluffy idealized animal willing to take a walk with you, but one that is hurting because you’ve tamed it in order to fit in society. Trapped, caged and forgotten, so nobody can hear its howling. And if you set it free, it might bite your life apart. So, this tunnel is also about negotiating with this animal self, this hurting tamed human, and reintegrating it into your life.

My ongoing work as y3mk currently is a personal work with the 22 ʢ Tunnels of Set ʡ. This means an exploration of mind and reality through tools like magick, entheogens, meditation and so on.

As I explore the tunnels I create the song with the material I find deep down there, so they might be useful for other psychonauts which embark into the prospection of the Tunnels of Set. Whenever a song is finished, it is time to proceed with the next tunnel.
