YAASAA in conversation with mesmerising musician Alfa Mist, London-born and raised Producer, Rapper and Pianist/Composer with Ugandan roots. Last year he released his critically acclaimed project "Antiphon" - a timeless mélange of jazz and harmony-infused soul accompanied by the voices of his brothers talking about family, relationships and mental health. 
Alfa Mist has sparked the hip hop and jazz world with his unique, melancholic production skills blending in with deep, thoughtful content while raising the emotive value of music per sé. 
Jumoke talked with Alfa about Nigerian fortune tellers, family relationship and the color of Antiphon.

YAASAA's Jumoke Adeyanju in conversation with the renowned, award-winning filmmaker and director Jenn Nkiru, director of award-winning short film “Rebirth is Necessary” (2017), and producer and director of her 2014 short “En Vogue”. Just recently she directed and majorly contributed to the captivating visuals of Kamasi Washington’s “Fists of Fury” and “Space Travelers Lullaby” as well as the 2nd unit director for Beyonce & Jay-Z’s newly released music video: “APESHIT”

During her stay in Johannesburg, South Africa last year, Jumoke payed Jenn Nkiru a visit at her spot in Maboneng district and immediately got caught by her staggering charm, which filled the atmospheric space with Glam, Hip Hop and Soulfire. They reminisced on childhood memories, "celestial vegan" Nigerians and discussed the societal obsession with Black Pain and how "Rebirth is Necessary" to experience Re-Awakening.

#3 YAASAA WITH JENN NKIRU

2manysiblings is a brother-sister duo consisting of Velma Rossa and Oliver Asike. They are influential drivers of Kenya's fashion landscape and its visualised story-making. In 2013 they established their regular Thrift Social events, an inspiring platform including Kenya’s mitumba shopping tradition, local arts and music. Just recently musicians like Kamau, OSHUN and Burna Boy graced the stage of Thrift Social Nairobi. 
Velma Rossa and Oliver Asike (aka Papa Petit) have realised successful projects, collaborations and international acknowledgement together and individually (e.g. ASOS Kenya, nataal, OkayAfrica, Vogue, I-D). Velma Rossa has collaborated with the Ethical Fashion Initiative, Karen walker and AFI fashion weeks, while Oliver has been active as a Stylist for Sauti Sol and Elani amongst others. 

With YAASAA's Jumoke they revealed their perspective on the connection between clothing and mental state, the success of their Thrift Social events, their favourite Kanga Swahili proverb and why Black is Oliver's favourite color.

137 Avenue Kaniama is the name of Baloji's newly released album. A continued journey to a historical path to self. Finding his mother's home in Lubumbashi (DRC), pursuit of loving and sense of belonging by channeling Bossa Nova, Afrobeat and Disco-Funk influences.   
With YAASAA's Jumoke Adeyanju and Radio Hobo's Host Denis we are inviting you to be part of Baloji's journey. Musician, Poet, Director, Designer and a lot more is what Baloji carries within his expressive craft. 
Jumoke interviewed the versatile Baloji right after his captivating show at Gretchen in Berlin. We are dedicating this edition to his album, a story-telling that led us to speak about vulnerability, perfectionism and why Radio Hobo would rather have a painting by Baloji on his wall than by say Stromae.
