I got the opportunity to officially remix this classic song to coincide with the release of a new Donny Hathaway box set. I was given the original multitrack master of the studio version (different from the live version)and it consisted of 8 different instrument and vocal tracks (as opposed to the more usual 24 tracks) 
When I take on a remix, my first goal is to make it work on a current dance floor. I like to stay very close to the originally recorded sound and In most case there's plenty to be reworked on the multitrack master to achieve this. 
This case proved a little different as there were few rhythm elements I could use to fit within current standards of club loudness levels. So I decided to take a slightly different approach, and add a new set of (acoustic) drums,  to bend the original Soul vibe a little towards Disco territory.

I love what Late Nite Tuff Guy did with this track (http://soundcloud.com/late-nite-tuff-guy/boy-u-turn-me-lntg-edit) but gave it a bit of a retouch to make it more playable. Added a kick to the intro and outro, added a couple of filters and pans, included some extra percussion and cut out and rearranged a few sections that didn't totally do it for me.
