true story

right before I flew to SXSW for a week of gigs all my dj equipment was stolen.

I flew to SXSW with about ~200 songs that I scavenged up on the fly. I did a bunch of gigs that week with those ~200 songs.

on my very last gig the Dolby Atmos team walked up to me (while im on stage lol) and asked if i could dj their after party. I said sure when? their response: in 1.5 hours.

LMAO

so I hopped off stage after my gig and walked back to my hotel. my mind was racing because I'd already dj'd these 200 songs in every direction i could possibly play them and everyone at SXSW had seen me DJ already.

I sat on the edge of my hotel bed like im lightskin in an R&B video and thought to myself what tf should i play lol.

i open my laptop and the kerri chandler boiler room set popped up. GAS. BIG shoutout to KC man. for real. I found the inspiration.

so from that point i just went on a QUICK but efficient soulful house music dive and BOOM i was back on stage for this after party.

was nervous asf - but man i had so much fun performing!

man.. back in the dojo! Quarantine life has been hella interesting. No people, no going outside, etc. So naturally, I've seen so many creatives really dive deep into their craft - so I followed suit. 

Volume 2 starts off with a conversation from one of my favorite anime shows [bonus points if you know it] where the characters discuss that a deadly virus going around. Fitting, right? I'm absolutely grateful to have made it this far. I put a lot of inner g into creating this. To me, it's not even a DJ set it's just a ... a big ass piece of art.

throughout this year, I've felt so much. I've been so frustrated with social injustice and racism, I've been so easily inspired by musicians I've worked with or met, I've communicated with God in ways that I never have before. The list goes on.

& I did my best to try and wrap that up into 90 minutes of sonic vibrations for you.
