Last month, I had a one-in-a-lifetime vacation in Cape Town, South Africa where I got to experiences the entire city and the culture in multiple ways, including the music culture.

Going to various events and DJing in Cape Town, I really had a revolutionary experience with the Amapiano sound and got to witness how special it is to South Africans. The sonics are a real representation of the city: Love, passion, and good vibes no matter where, who and how.

I hope you enjoy the blend of Amapiano and my UK/Dutch sonic influence and I intend to integrate the traditional South African sound in my sets.

Seres Producoes is proud to announce the very first album of Galio DJ. The album title 'Quibuala' is a word derived from 'Buala', which means in Quicongo language, village, from the bush or from the interior. 'Because I have a strong connection with the cultures of my land, habits and customs, I was nicknamed Quibuala by my friends', Galio says. Back in time, when he left his hometown of Cabinda to reach the capital Luanda, he felt excluded at first, mocked by the others. Because he was coming from the 'buala', the boy from the countryside had to accept it and find a niche for himself to make it as an artist, and reveal his talents as a music producer.

Now based in Lisbon, the angolan DJ and producer decided to tell his personal story through music in this piece: 'It's my first album, so I thought I'd portray a lot my angolan/african origins because it's my crib. It's where I'm born and where I grew up.' Galio also admits that he put a lot of himself into this work, 'from sadness to joy, through losses and achievements'. Since 2002, when he started to produce rap music, Galio found his way into afro-house, releasing a remarkable first track in 2017 called Killer. Since then, the producer became a leading figure of the genre, bringing forward his energetic, percussive and African-rooted style to the afro-house and afro-tech community with essential tracks such as 'Molta', 'Pataquero', 'Folkloric' or more recently, the banger 'Mbenda' in collaboration with the godfather DJ Satelite.
Therefore, 2022 seems to be the year of Galio, who created a debut album full of 'art, rhythm, poetry and ancestry', a collection of songs where you can hear several african languages such as Ibinda, Honbumdo, Quikongo, Kinbumdo, Suali or Criolo spoken in Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau. By adding the sounds of instruments like congas, maracas, djembes or acoustic guitar, Galio makes this album not only a dancefloor-killer but also a splendid organic piece of work.
