it’s our right to feel safe.

I Love You - 2022 - 11 - 26, 10.30 PM

I wrote this for a 100 000$ Christmas song competition, for an animated movie.
A little snow boy would have been singing the song.
I only found out about the contest with two days to create a song, 
Studied the lore, and rewrote my Christmas song, arranged the melody, and the chords. Learnt it on guitar and piano, produced the background for it.
But then garage band kept crashing, logic pro also didn’t work, I finally had to give up on recording the keyboard and guitar. And just did the vocals.
It’s a fast rough job, but I put a ton of work, and love into it, I really hoped theyd like it. But they didn’t, I had some very professional competition.
So, I may as well give it to you as my Christmas gift.

When you come home to me, I want you to know you’ll be free.
To be all that you are, feel all that you feel, 
There’s no right, there’s no wrong, no one telling what’s real.
And you’re free, to love whoever you wish, 
and be all that you want to be.

I often see you dancing through the house, 
Holding my hand, staring in my third eye.
I imagine you running into my arms, 
my heart fills with joy and I breath a happy sigh.

Every day without you, I am heartbroken and grieving, 
I am a mother without her children.
But I don’t blame you, you are the victims, 
I will always love you; you’ll always be forgiven.

When you come home to me, I want you to know you’ll be free.
To be all that you are, feel all that you feel, 
There’s no right, there’s no wrong, no one telling what’s real.

She enjoyed a challenge, so she climbed mount Mansfield Barefoot, 
Though everyone told her it couldn’t be done.
To the band from Peru, she kicked off her shoes, 
And danced by herself in the subway, for fun.
Most people, thought she was drunk, or crazy, it was outside their reality,
But life’s to short, to not dance to the music, don’t stop yourself from being free.

She was told scary news of Central America, 
She flew there fore her fears, could make her stay.
Oh, Mexico city’s especially dangerous, and do-on’t ever hitchhike in LA
So she conquered precaution, and vanquished those cities, 
Facing her fears one by one.                   
Befriending the people, who looked real scary, 
Being courageous, was exciting and fun

I finally figured out how to describe the music in my album From Broken to Love, I think I might be starting a new genre...Not really sure which box to put it in.
