During the time that Yak was signed to Derrty Ent, he was introduced to a producer by the name of Terex Beats. Terex and Yak began to grow they’re artist producer relationship almost immediately. This particular track (Roll Up & Smoke), came about purely from being around the studio and having this beat catch Yak's ear. Terex was working on a music video for Baby Huey (best known for his song: Pop Lock and Drop It) and Rex was going to use this beat and hook for a recap video and behind the scenes roll. Yak convinced him otherwise, he loved it. Now fast forward….Yak ends up leaving Derrty Ent, but not before Roll Up & Smoke caught the ear of Hometown Legend and St. Lunatics recording artist Murphy Lee. At this time, Roll Up & Smoke was another song in a massive catalog that had grown substantially over the past year and almost set to the side, but like the title of Yak’s newly released EP is titled TIMING IS EVERYTHING.
