‘Ostgut Ton | Fünfzehn + 1’ is a commemorative compilation celebrating 16 years of Ostgut Ton – and the first glimpses of light at the end of a long dark tunnel for parent club Berghain.

Originally planned for release in 2020, the music focuses on the interwoven nature of the label and the club in its multitude of different spaces and musical facets. Ostgut Ton artists and close affiliates worked together in pairs to make music dedicated to five different floors, each represented by a specific 12" vinyl. The result is a diverse selection of sometimes functional, other times more abstract sonic tributes; musical homages to spaces they have both influenced and been influenced by.

With the pandemic having forced the club to close temporarily, the collaborative nature of the 5x12" boxset represents an attempt to transcend varying degrees of isolation and to wrestle with memories of music and space that had been inaccessible. But certainly not forgotten.

Soundscape for an exhibition Composed Shapes - Carved Sounds.

The sonic journey flows through six distinct phases in a seamless loop, encouraging visitors to immerse themselves at any point and fostering a non-linear exploration of the exhibition space. The soundscapes and their accompanying sculptures engage in a multidimensional conversation between form, space, and sound, with each passage exploring the sculptures from a different perspective.

About Tresor Berlin
At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future.

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.

The Berlin based duo @Cassegrain will release new work recorded alongside DJ Nobu, @Tensal & @Ladystarlightnyc via their own Arcing Seas imprint in September.

Leaning towards the more heady, high octane end of the genre - the three track EP showcases the duo’s natural affinity for collaboration, maintaining Evirgen & Tsiridis’ characteristic finish and attention to detail, whilst providing ample space for the guests to properly colour the work. 

CT01, alongside Tensal, marries caustic drones with a potent lead sequence to produce a perfect peak time roller; whilst CN01, with DJ Nobu, riffs on a more melodic, stepping approach - maintaining that same rousing energy, but with a more psychedelic bent. CLS01, the duo’s collaboration with Lady Starlight comes in at almost 11 minutes, an ambient Techno journey that warps and shifts organically across it’s extended run time - complete with beat-less intro and multiple segues that work to bind the piece and it’s different sections into one, cohesive narrative.

Effective and impeccably produced - but with a keen ear for new & exciting sonics within the genre - this first collaborative outing proves an enviable addition to the duo’s already impressive discography.

Parassela is the live and studio project of Blawan and The Analogue Cops. They have been releasing  vinyl hand-grenades on Restoration and Vae Victis Records, after their quickly sold out debut on their own Parassela imprint.

HFFKEM (Hedge Fund Festivals Kill Electronic Music) is state of the art biting Techno; written, mixed and produced at Blawan’s headquarters in Berlin during a gloomy day of summer this year. The Analogue Cops  has joined the bulky modulars of the studio with their roadie cutting edge Elektron machines. These four gritty cuts are an infuriated conglomerate of liquefied analogue leads, rotten oppressive drums and trenchant FM drubbings. And a statement without half-measure on the outline of the situation.
