YAKØ’s electronic music act officially began at the start of 2021, releasing his debut single “Charbelle”. He was challenged to make a track within a week, by someone close to him. Which he accepted & successfully accomplished. He then dedicated “Charbelle” to her as a token of appreciation, helping him to discover something he thought that could never be done with such short of a deadline.
 
‘YAKØ’, an alias by Travis Fernandes, who spent most of his time as a recording artist and producer.
Just before the beginning of the pandemic, he left his guitar and recording kit in Doha - Qatar, where he was born and raised. His 2 months short trip to Asia, turned out “longer than expected”. 
Unable to return back to Doha, while the borders were closed during the lockdown. He had to find a way to produce something without his essential instruments. 
Luckily, carrying his laptop and Akai MPK mini keyboard, with intentions to mix on the road, really had other surprises awaiting him. He decided he’d try something new to keep busy his creative mind by producing something new and different.
His love for “techno” and the “underground rave” scene, influenced his desire to experiment with something unfamiliar from his production style.
 
Since that day, he never looked back. He decided to never stop failing, growing and sharing his mysteries of the frequencies with intention of bringing people together through dance & unity.

That day, was the birth of ‘YAKØ’.
