By blending their own self-composed beats with influences from the worlds grooviest and most entrancing rhythms, Yakumbé have managed to create their own unique sound and musical language.
 
Yakumbé have extensive experience in playing at all types of events and arenas with the ability to vary their show to fit the specific occasion. By working extensively with connecting to their audience and improvising the band can breath life into every party, club, carnival, wedding, festival, conference at any time and place.
 
 
Yakumbé was formed in 1993 and Juan Romero is the group's musical leader today. Throughout the years the band has explored many different rhythms such as: Candombe from Uruguay, Batucada and Samba reggae from Brazil, Cumbia with roots from Colombia, Afro-rhythm originally from west Africa, Makulêlê a traditional African-Brazilian rhythm, funk, hip hop and many more. Many of their rythms are self-composed and will continue their journey with samba drums.
 
In order to spread happiness and excitement Yakumbé continues to evolve as a band by creating new arrangements and collaborations. With their unique sound and amazing energy they have the ability to transform any venue into a heaving, dancing sea.
