With a focus on house music but also venturing into techno, ambient, jazz, and beyond, YAMA captivates audiences with an eclectic, but carefully curated selection that is as diverse as it is cohesive. With years of experience as a record store buyer (she is currently an advisor at Newtone Records in Osaka) YAMA is consistently exploring new sounds. 

Her expert blend of uplifting grooves with deep, psychedelic soundscapes has earned her praise from multitudes of dancers in Japan – as well as some of the most respected DJs in the world. Her steady, confident mixing has the power to move bodies and minds with equal skill, inevitably locking in dancefloors as soon as she gets behind the decks. Known for her regular performances at the legendary Precious Hall in Sapporo, her guest appearances at techno parties like Future Terror  and her sets at countless outdoor festivals around Japan.

YAMA’s sound resonates with equal intensity, passion, and depth wherever she plays.
Most recently, she has performed with artists such as Theo Parrish, Larry Heard, DJ Nobu Haruka Kuniyuki Gonno ,Fred.P, Nick The Record,Eris Drew, Nicola Cruz, YPY,Serigio Vardinelli and Dolphins into the Future.
