Upcoming Spanish maestros Yamil & Thimble are joining forces for the very first time to release a single collaboration called ‘Places’, an impeccable programming of club-ready rhythms, sophisticated melodies and sung words, signed under Toto Chiavetta's Borders Of Lights label. Available from July 2nd. 

‘Places’ is built upon the tension of a tight oscillating bass line that flickers and shifts through up and down notes which gradually increase in intensity and leads into a powerful vocal. At the point of peak, arrangement recedes into a set of collapsing structures and very subtle drum elements: the result is a symphony of bristling melodies, smooth vocals and a signature of syncopated snares that increase the existing energy throughout the whole journey. 

In addition, the single is packaged with a mind-blowing ’Ambient Version’ ideal for introducing DJ sets, through which both artists have also proved their skills at crafting complex and distinctive melodies.  

In short, after a tough and atypical year, Yamil and Thimble have managed to keep their creativity alive, this is the first collaboration of many so keep an eye on them, much more is about tu come.

Following appearances on acclaimed labels such as Toto Chiavetta's Borders Of Light, MoBlack or Sol Selectas and having recently signed with Super Flu's Monaberry, Yamil is back on his own record label Pieces Of Life with an outstanding new EP called Himbra. Label friend Enai is also making an appearance on remix duty. 

Yamil is in a momentous moment, he has been delivering high quality House and Deep House for the last couple of years, steadily forging his reputation as a DJ, Producer, Label Owner and Artist with a unique musical visioning. He also garnered heavy support from the likes of Black Coffe, Dixon, Âme or Pablo Fierro over the summer. Currently based in Madrid his personal sound travels across the globe creating special moments through his original music or dj sets. His latest releases are the best proof of it, most of them have placed themselves on the first positions of Beatport and Traxsource's Top 100 sales charts, sitting himself as one of the most interesting artists to keep an eye on during 2022. 

Himbra EP consists of two original tracks and a remix by Girona-based producer Enai. The homonymous track 'Himbra' is built upon the tension of a tight oscillating bass line which gradually increase in intensity and shifts around very subtle drum elements to leads into a flute that becomes the main element of the song at the point of peak and increase the existing energy throughout the whole journey. 

Next up is 'New Dawn', a richly atmospheric track that sees Spanish producer incorporate a very heavy hit hat that leads into a dip which is characterized by an emotional piano and synthesizer's build-ups for a transcendent listening experience. 

The mood of the EP changes radically with Enai's remix to 'New Dawn', driving energy and hypnotic synth lines, the producer has made the song his own, breaking down the original melodies and bringing it to a more darker and melodic techno vibe.

It's been quite a wait for new Yamil's music to be released on his own Pieces of Life's label, but these four new cuts have been worth waiting for. After an incredible year that saw Pieces of Life dropping the debut album by crew member Clemente, now is time for the Spanish record label to unleash the first reference of the year.

Following appearances on acclaimed labels such as Los Angeles based Sol Selectas, Monaberry or afro house finest MoBlack Recrods, Yamil is back on his own Pieces of Life with Amanecer EP, one of his most requested productions to date.

The EP starts with homonymous track 'Amanecer', a flowing and densely arranged dancefloor meditation, all conjoined by shimmering layers and an ultimately heart-melting Piano improvisation that gets into your head immediately and will leave no crowd untouched.

Next up is 'Cleophatra', which is built on the tension of an oscillating bass line that flickers and shifts through ascending and descending notes that gradually increase in intensity and lead to a powerful African chorus that perfectly match the essence of the song and takes us back to mother earth.

The third song is 'Ritual', which gradually decreases the energy of the previous tracks to take us into an emotional journey, with pleasant pianos and a soft voice that undoubtedly generate peace all along the way.

'Symmetry' is the EP's closer, an impeccable programming of club-ready beats, smooth melodies and a crystal-clear singing voice that puts the finishing touch to this mind-blowing voyage of feelings.

The 5th chapter in Sol Selectas annual compilation Summer Sol is here, and in these surreal times we all now live in, good healing music is needed more now than ever before. @piecesoflifeofc was born with the purpose of publishing exclusively Yamil's music but finally and due to the fact that the label is surrounded by great artist and friends, we have decided to release a 4-track compilation called 'Masterpieces'. We'll include exclusive music by producers that we love and who are close to the label so you can expect strictly bangers by artist from all over the world. First volume will drop on January 22nd.

The track that opens the EP is the long-awaited remix of Yamil to G.Zamora's 'De Todo Se Aprende' released on the label back in October 2020.

Adrian Roman makes his label debut with 'Lambda', an Afro house piece that brings out quality from beginning to end, nothing conventional. The melodies transport us through a journey of emotions while the voices and the beat finds the perfect harmony.

Third cut is delivered by POL's label manager, Rodrik. 'Hold Me On' is an energetic song accompanied by a catchy robotic vocal. It's a perfect track to warm up the atmosphere in any kind of mood.

Yamil closes the EP with a strong single called 'Meru' and that he has produced several months a go in a moment of inspiration where he has developed many of the tracks that are seeing the light in these months.
