Born in Hawaii, YamYams grew up mostly studying classical music and jazz while singing and playing the piano, clarinet, and guitar with various bands around the San Francisco Bay Area. She found her way to electronic music via a new found love for drum and bass, eventually building a square-wave synthesizer from scratch while studying physics in college. YamYams also managed various touring artists for ~20 years before finally starting to play out and tour herself in 2022.

YamYams grew up on 90s hip hop and R&B and has always had a soft spot for classic rock, punk rock, and symphonic death metal. YamYams loves most forms of music and says she typically plays “house,” but that’s been known to include afro and latin beats along with influences from her classical & jazz music backgrounds and things like hip hop, breaks, and techno. 

YamYams has had the joy of playing various festivals, campouts, and 40+ venues across five states, including Burning Man, San Francisco Pride, Cascadia NW Music & Arts Festival, and Seacompression.
