Growing up in Alabama every now and again we would see the rain fall and the sun was shining at the same time.  When this would happen all the older women in the family would say.".mmm...mmmm....look at that ..the devil is whipping his wife"  That is where we got the idea initially.  Living in Memphis now...it has much of the Memphis mood to it now.

In North Alabama in a group of hills which are part of the Appalachian Mountain Range is a place called Sand Mountain.  And on this rural mountain stands a church called the Rock House Church.  This church is not made of rock.  Nope...it is called the Rock House Church because about 100 years ago the folks there decided that they wanted to pray with more freedom and the rest of the churched folks there decided that this was wrong so they would stand outside of the church and throw rocks at it.  That is how it became known as the Rock House Church.  By the way....the church still stands and is still having services.  You can't tear the ROCK HOUSE DOWN!   Enjoy!

This is an original tune that is influenced by the folk tunes rooted in and around the Appalachian Mountain range of the United States.   Linda does the three part harmony here.  It is based on a ghost story that has been told for years about a woman in white that was heard and seen on full moon nights walking and wailing.  The story goes that she killed herself after a tragedy took all her family leaving her alone.  And now she haunts the Cumberland Ridge.
