I’ve created a piece together with @yyyesh which represents the figure of the siren; the singing enchantresses capable of luring passing boats to their “flowery” island and subsequently, to their listener’s doom. Daughters of the ocean, subjects are fated to perish if they should hear the siren. Boats will hurle and drown in the deep black ocean. Like the myth, hope this airy wave enchantments you into our atmospheric cosmos.

The focus is upon the curated series of collaborative ambient poetry works. Each time a new guest will be invited to join in a reading.

Guest #1 is Zazie Stevens 
artist, writer, and director (EIC) of DAISYWORLD magazine (2020). 
DAISYWORLD magazine is a biannual independent artist project concerned with questioning anthropocentrism; 
a progressive and sensual publication at the intersection of contemporary art, language, ecofeminism & ecocriticism. 

For this collaboration with Yanling, Zazie Stevens provided fragments of lyrical research used for the latest edition of DAISYWORLD magazine #4, titled "SILENT SPRING“, 
provoked by the enduring influence of the work of Rachel Carson.
Carson (1907-1964, USA) was a biologist, writer, and conservationist whose book Silent Spring (1962) made ecology, a then unfamiliar term, into one of the great causes of our time. Reading Silent Spring today, instantly reveals that its implications are far broader than the immediate crisis with which it dealt.

The Forum demokratische Kultur und zeitgenössische Kunst (Forum DCCA) looks at the political dangers facing the arts. It encourages discussions of issues that are important for an open society. The focus is on addressing racism and antisemitism, often through the rejection of historic modernity. From this perspective, the forum looks at waves of Romanticism. It also refers back to Völkisch ideas (a racist, German word that means, “belonging to the people of a nation”) that were common to the time. During the era of German Romanticism, people often used this word. It was everyday vernacular.
This video work will be shown in the ruin. In this epoch, there were specific sites that held importance: Valhalla in the Danube Valley, the Ruin Theatre in Bayreuth and Peacock Island in Berlin. It is shown with repeated Romantic images from the recent video game, Elden Ring.

Bob Kil’s writing is a form of meditation on current affairs and their power dynamics. By contextualising the language of chant, the vocal sound of metaphorical observational remarks oscillates space as a signifier of social code.
