WHO WE ARE

The Yarra foundation is an incorporated association founded by a group of young professional Iranian immigrants in Australia, to
help disadvantaged children gain access to education. At the Yarra Foundation we believe that education has a profound and everlasting
impact on a child’s future options. Yarra Foundation is a non-profit and voluntarily run charity.

WHO WE HELP

In Iran, as in most developing countries, the budgets allocated for education are too low to meet requirements and to achieve the goal of
universal education. Other reasons that make education difficult for some children include:
- Being forced to work for the family
- Coming from a disadvantaged social - economic background
- Not possessing the right to go to school (Children of illegal immigrants)
- Living in a remote area
- Having a mental or physical disability

HOW WE HELP

We know the challenges disadvantaged children face in Iran accessing the education they deserve, and we are determined to do our best
towards resolving this issue. We have a broad network of passionate and caring volunteers in Iran and in Australia achieving great successes.
Here are some of the projects we have carried
out:

- Provision of stationery, books, school uniforms, science kits, computers, and extra curriculum classes.
- Tuition fees for orphans and disabled children.
- Transportation to and from remote areas.
Provision of infrastructure to ensure children’s health and safety, such as heating, fans, desks and chairs, and disabled access.
