For this release we wanted to pick up where we left off and take a leap forward as a band. After two single releases on different labels, trying to stay relevant in a difficult period for live music, we are excited to be able to present a coherent ensemble of 4 tracks on Underyourskin Records! The meaning of the title is at the same time retrospective and ambitious! Enjoy!

La Tordue est un groupe de rock et de chansons poétiques et engagées français, actif entre 1989 et 2003.
Le groupe est formé à Paris en 1989 autour du parolier et chanteur Benoît Morel et le musicien Pierre Payan. Très vite, ils sont rejoints par le multi-instrumentiste Éric « Fil » Philippon. En 1993, ils font l'ouverture du festival rock des Rencontres trans musicales à Rennes, la ville natale de Morel. L'année suivante, ils sont sélectionnés par le Fonds d'action et d'initiative rock (FAIR) et remportent le concours du tremplin du festival Chorus des Hauts-de-Seine. En juin 1994, ils se produisent à la fête de la musique de Roumanie, un mois plus tard, ils sont invités au festival Francofolies de La Rochelle.

Leur premier album, Les Choses de rien, paraît l'année d'après, en 1995. Le groupe est associé par les journalistes à la « nouvelle scène française ». Entre 1995 et 2002, ils publient cinq albums, dont un enregistré en public. L'album Le Vent t'invite, sorti en 2000, atteint la 46e place des charts français.

En vie est l'unique album enregistré en public de La Tordue ; il atteint la 64e place des charts français. Sorti en 2001, il s'agit de leur quatrième album. Toutes les chansons proviennent de leurs trois albums studio, à l'exception de Jolie môme qui est une reprise de Léo Ferré. Sur Champ libre (33e place des charts), leur dernier album paru en 2002, ils sont rejoints par le batteur Mathieu Morel. Dans cet album, La Tordue milite contre la double peine avec l'association Une Peine Point Barre. Ce qui donne naissance à un titre, Le Pétrin, et à des interventions de personnes confrontées à la double peine pendant les concerts de La Tordue.
La Tordue se sépare en décembre 2003. Benoît Morel continue de se produire sur scène sous le nom d’artiste Le B du Chat, pseudonyme avec lequel il signait les pochettes des albums de La Tordue. Il s'agit sans doute d'un clin d'œil aux Chats Pelés, groupe de graphistes auquel il participa, aux côtés de Christian Olivier, le chanteur des Têtes raides (pour qui Benoît Morel a écrit des textes à leurs débuts). Benoît Morel poursuit son travail d'illustrateur et enregistre un album solo, Félin pour l'autre, sorti en 2007.

She woke up when the sun was high in the sky and burning with light. Even in the shade of the forest, her black head burned hot. As she woke up, she looked at her jug of water. Since she had used some of it for her compass and had drunk some during her night walk, it was only half full. She sipped it and tried not to think about Ma and Ba finding her note. “I hope they understand,” she said to herself, shifting the weight of the water jug on her shoulders uncomfortably. She walked west again. A couple moments later, she sipped her jug again. She tried to drink sparingly, but even through the leaves of the trees, the yellow sun glared down at her. Soon, her empty jug was bouncing against her arm when she heard a faint noise running through the trees. “That’s water trickling!” she said to herself as she turned toward the sound. “There’s water here somewhere.” Soon she noticed a small stream, running with clear sparkling water. She eagerly bent down to drink and fill her jug, but as soon as she tasted the water she spit it out! “Salt water!” she exclaimed. “This water is salty! HusnuCanMarley is an Earth traveler looking for precious jewels and everlasting dreams. This is his second offering for Shango Records. This track can spread positive and warm feelings. Maris and Shadi Kario throw coins and make wises to the fountain of life.

Welcome traveller!

We've seen it coming... Summer is slowly fading, but there is yet some precious sunlight to grab!
A long time in the process and still perfectly on schedule arrives our latest installment to melodize the change of seasons and to soothe summers send-off into the southern parts.

It was once foretold, a long time family member by the name of @g-a-t-s would come to the light and bring with him a bundle of sounds, gathered on his quests, begotten with close accomplices. 

The melancholicly beautiful "Schicksalsmelodie" is finally caught in the moment and ready to be unleashed into its future.
 
On "Cabo Verde" GATS got his @yelagua band members @lagoonsvoice and @tmplsound on board to sail around the shores and get lost in the siren calls.

And then third original "Christian Acid", instrumentally supported by Russian slowburner Donev, may guide you to spiritual freedom, or just take you on a ride. Might be up to you, i guess.

And what would all this frenzy be about, if we didn't have two fine remodels to go with it, thought of and conceived by the voodoolicious Ibu Selva and the irresistible Tofu Resistance, heading straight towards the dancefloors.
