Yasmine Hamdan was born in Lebanon, and has lived in the Gulf countries and in Greece. She is considered as an underground icon throughout the Arab world ever since SoapKills, the emblematic duo she founded in Beirut, which must have been the first indie/electronic band to appear in the Middle East, and whose music had become the soundtrack to the vibrant, young arts scene which developed in postwar Lebanon.

After moving to Paris, Yasmine wrote and recorded the "Arabology" album with musician/producer Mirwais (of Madonna fame), under the Y.A.S. moniker, and also collaborated with CocoRosie for a while. 

Yasmine Hamdan then joined forces with Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague) to write and produce her first solo album (for Kwaidan Records), which came out internationally (in a revised version with five new tracks) in 2013 on Crammed Discs, under the title Ya Nass. 

Her lastest solo album, Al Jamilat, will be released on March 2017 on Crammed Discs and is produce by Yasmine alongside UK producers Luke Smith & Leo Abrahams.

Yasmine Hamdan est née à Beyrouth. Elle passe une partie de sa vie entre les pays du Golfe et la Grèce. Elle est considérée comme une icône underground à travers le monde arabe, depuis ses premiers pas avec SoapKills, le duo emblématique qu'elle avait fondé à Beyrouth, l'un des premiers groupes indie/électroniques à voir le jour au Moyen-Orient, dont la musique a accompagné les jours et les nuits de la jeune scène artistique qui a fleuri après la fin de la guerre au Liban.

Après s'être installée à Paris, Yasmine collabore avec Mirwais (l'ex-Taxi Girl, producteur d'albums de Madonna), avec lequel elle fonde l'éphémère projet Y.A.S et enregistre "Arabology", ainsi qu'avec CocoRosie. 

Yasmine s'associe ensuite avec Marc Collin (Nouvelle Vague), avec lequel elle produit son premier album solo, paru tout d'abord chez Kwaidan Records puis, en 2013, dans une version internationale remaniée, sous le titre "Ya Nass" (Crammed Discs). 

En 2017, elle produit son nouvel album "Al Jamilat" (Crammed Discs) - sortie prévue en mars 2017 - en collaboration avec Luke Smith & Leo Abrahams.
