(inspired by my visit to Carol Rama’s Antibodies show at New Museum (2017), my first time listening to Alive She Died and the never-ending tears after, no longer trying to express anything through metaphorical walls, navigating feeling severely misunderstood and absolving the need to feel understood, reconnection, and by catharsis, collapse, euphoria, joy and turmoil)

Lost In Oscillation - 5/6/2023

mix I recorded February 2023 for an undisclosed project/series I worked on earlier this year. name was previously Erosion. i have decided to release this on my own terms for now, but it may or may not end up elsewhere at some point. this mix is too close and sacred to me for me to leave it behind.

"a cybernetic universe where anything is possible..."

this mix was inspired by vestiges of obsolete technology and a simpler form of futurism prevalent within the fuzzy and hazy memories of my earliest years & the impalpable sensations i felt. my interest was resurrected through researching installations, performances, visiting antique shops, and early computer graphics. i recorded this mix in a single take while overtaken by gloom in a sullen state of mind with life flashing before my very own eyes in the form of everchanging frames. the same sensations evoked by art, music, and primal memories that have persisted throughout my life then flooded my headspace. these represent the transmissions and wavelengths of sounds from times and eras in which i find true sanctuary and release. some modern sounds and more recent musings are interspersed here too - an imperfect imprint that would not feel right if i had re-recorded to fine tune while sacrificing the full expression.

this piece is dedicated to those earliest moments finding comfort in music, to my family especially, and to the days when technology universally presented a more hopeful future. thank you for listening.

An all US-based house music two-hour special consisting of my favorite emotive, sentimental, and soulful deep house cuts from 1986-1989. Two tracks from this mix are either from outside the states but played in the house circuit during this era (freestyle track called “Tease Me (Ron Allen Remix)” by Melina Marks off the Canadian label Bigshot Records and Craig S. Loftis’s “Searchin’ 4 Love” (Club Mix).
