Who are we really? We say we're individuals, each with their own identity and piece of mind. But do we? Not even our own bodies are our own. It's merely a combination of two bodies and theirs a combination of more. We feel only what we imagine is real. Our thoughts, ideals, perceptions, everything we stand for, it's all an accumulation of everything around us. Pixels which form the bigger picture. We are a colony. A cluster of different components, atoms, blocks put together.

So, who are we?

(n.) the soul, creativity, or love put into something; the essence of yourself that is put into your work.

I wanted to evoke a melancholic feeling through this composition because, even after putting a lot of efforts, hard work, love, passion and creativity, in life not all your work, what you do and what you stand and strive for will get the recognition, support, credit, attention or the criticism it deserves.

Pt. III


For those who don’t know me and my music, I refrain from composing any mainstream/ commercial EDM and focus more on easy listening, calm electronic/ future/ chill/ ambient music. 

But daray is an exception. Whenever I think about choas and wanting to express or evoke the feeling of it through music, I can generally think of only one genre which can help me with that, and that is dubstep. 


daray. 

I was in conflict not only with everyone else's views, thoughts, perceptions and so on, but I was in conflict with myself and everything I used to stand for. There was so much choas up in my head that I didn't know what held true anymore and what didn't. I couldn't think straight. I was lost. I could feel my life falling apart. Piece by piece. Slowly. This year, it has been pretty eventful for me. It's been full of surprises. I got and ended up with things that I don't and never deserved, and what I believed was the best thing that happened to me was just another passing phase which led to my self destruction. I was left behind. I understood the true meaning of friendship and family and realised that none of them will always be there for you when you need them most. I was left alone. 

So, daray is my journey through everything that's happened this year. The good, the bad, and mostly the unexpected.

Surprise!

I love the melodies and the whole structure of the track, so there's not much change to it. Just a different take, that's all. :)

I wanted to create a very atmospheric feeling to it, hence the sounds.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed composing it. :D

A little about the remix:

Since I wanted to break free from all the work I've done before, I saw the chance of doing this remix as the perfect opportunity to help me do so. 

I wanted the original song to breathe and build my version around it. Something like what I've done with my Hymn For The Weekend by Coldplay Remix.

I also wanted to have the Sarod (Indian string instrument) as the lead in order to give this song another feel/ identity, 'cause if I went all electronic with this one, I would've not done anything different. I would've been making the same thing as the other artists before have. :3 

Plus, being Indian, I wanted to add my culture into this remix. So, yeah.

I hope you find it worthwhile.
