Yatin Srivastava Project - Unexplained (Feat. Takar Nabam)[Single Version]

Lauren Babic decided to post her vocal stems for the cover she did of Scarlet, so I thought I'd do some mixing practice and mix her raw files onto the Haunted Shores demo. I'm pretty happy with the result so decided to post this on here! 

I mostly used the in-built Logic plug-ins and some Waves plug-ins for the vocal tracks and the mastering bus. 

Ps - Lauren's takes were absolutely phenomenal. Her raw signal was nice and clean and I didn't have to spend a crazy time on automation for the tracks. I highly recommend you check her out!

Lauren Babic - Scarlet Vocal Cover by Haunted Shores (Mixed and Mastered by Yatin Srivastava)

This is my first attempting at composing/producing an electronic track. This was hugely inspired by Film Score music and the electronic based music of Trent Reznor, Steven Wilson and Andy Stott. Hope you guys like it! :)

Came up with this mix to test the Positive Grid BIAS application. I used the Positive Grid JamPlug to record the guitars and bass. Drums are Superior Drummer with the Kick and Snare replaced by 4D Sounds Drum Samples. Hope you guys like it! Cheers

Positive Grid Bias Tone Test - Progressive Metal

This is a self composition by one of my dear friends and former bandmate. Rishabh Sanghi has been playing the Keyboard/Piano for the past 6 years now. He's currently in the band Penguin Park. This was a piece he made around a year and a half back. The quality of that was very good, but I thought I could use it for a mastering track. Thus, I mastered the track in Logic. This is my first attempt at fully mastering a track from scratch. Hope you like it! :D

Rishabh Sanghi - Melt (Mastered)

First guy I recorded in my ghetto studio so to say. :P He's an amazing musician, precise. Took me hardly 2 hours to record the whole song with him, including vocals. Had an amazing time with him! Hope you like the mix, this is my first attempt. :)

Sidharth Gupta - Anything Can Be (Alternative Rock)

After the successful release of their debut album in May of 2018 - including international magazine features on Prog and iO Pages, reviews on Metal Hammer, Powerplay Magazine, Rolling Stone India etc. along with extensive radio play around the world, the Yatin Srivastava Project is back to business in 2019 with a remix for a song off the debut album ‘Chaos // Despair’ titled Program.Obsolete. The remix looks back at the influences behind the album and also the previous live EP titled ‘Constructing An Acoustic Dream’, melding more Electronic, Ambient and Drum & Bass influenced sounds into the music. 

With the song still being true to the original version, including the vocals of Pineapple Thief frontman and writer Bruce Soord, it also sees an addition of an orchestral style of arrangement with layered String, Cello and Vocal Harmony parts adding different textures to the song. Along with that, the addition of new analog synth sounds and percussive acoustic guitars give the remix a snappy sound whilst the Sub Bass provides a layer of warmth to the entire sound.

Although Yatin handles most of the work behind the songs and the Project, he also collaborates with a lot of musicians to complete the sound. This time around though, he has taken all the responsibilities, being the sole person to work on the song – maybe hinting a completely solo stint in the future a possibility. The Beyond Despair remix of Program.Obsolete. will be released on all streaming platforms on 15.02.2019 and it is just the start of a busy year for Yatin Srivastava Project.

Program.Obsolete. (Beyond Despair Remix)

This is a song that my bandmate and I came up with one day while recording guitars for our songs. We started playing with Guitar Rig patches and in about 15 minutes, we had this arrangement that sounded really cool. After that, we basically kept adding more and more effects/layers to make it sound bigger. It really came out well. Hope you like it! :D

This is my entry for the #fearedmixingcomp by Ola Englund. This is a mammoth song! :O And I had real fun mixing it! I mixed and mastered it in Logic Pro 9. Hope you like it! :D

Ps - I recently got hold of the Waves complete vsti package and mostly used it on this mix, and my mind was blown! I don't think I've ever gotten such a good mix. :P
