Kike Pravda unveils the face behind his S.E.R.E.S. alias with a strong contribution on the seminal @semantica-records label ran by Svreca.

Kike’s production resume includes releases on Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up Recordings and PoleGroup, Semantica as well as Childen Of Tomorrow, Faut Section, Clergy and his very own Senoid Recordings. 

All of this on top of his own releases on Senoid, the label already counts an illustrious cast of artists for its releases, including Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Exium, P.E.A.R.L. and Svreca. His productions and well-curated sets have seen Kike perform in some of Europe’s leading stages and rooms, including Tresor Berlin, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Fabrik in Madrid, Propaganda in Moscow, Liquid Club in Malta, Santander Summer Festival in Spain, Zodiak in Brussels, and more sharing the stage with world-class artists like Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Reeko, Exium, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Regis, James Ruskin, Luke Slater, Takaaki Itoh and Surgeon.

Welcome to Yax Invites. This is a mix series curated by myself, based in Adelaide, with the purpose of creating a library of quality mixes and showcasing talent from around the world.

Episode 1 is full of loopy, hypnotic, and trippy grooves, featuring tracks from many up and coming artists in the techno world.

Yax Invites #001 - Yax

After some plausible backstory the 88756 program was born - the first computer algorithm to be truly indistinguishable from man. Designed to explore concepts such as individuality and what it means to be human, it quickly adopted a creative pursuit in techno.

The program's sound consists of overly complex, evolving synthesis and the liberal butchering of drum machine samples - described by one individual as "the soundtrack to a futuristic pacman but like it's also a 3D shooter".

Its 3 years of activity have produced works available on many local and international imprints, including @connection-verified (Melbourne), @otomotrax and more recently Soma sub label @avoidantrecords.

Expect a journey through all things electro, techno, and industrial for episode 2 of Yax Invites.

Yax Invites #002 - 88756

Due to the great response I've had with the mix series so far, I've decided to release episodes weekly for the rest of the year. Dave.LK is my first international guest and is based out of Gothenburg, Sweden, offering up 90 minutes of straight up banging techno. Here are some words from him about the mix:

"I don't think I'm the only one that has dived into the loopier, oldschool sounds over the past couple years. This mix sits around 142-144 bpm, my favorite tempo range which I rarely move outside of. Starts off lighter and trippier and ends up in the heavier style which initially got me into techno. 
Enjoy!"

The Dallas, Texas based producer who also goes under the alias of Cratan, has released a plethora of tracks throughout 2021 on various top quality labels around the globe, and it is a pleasure to have him on the series for Episode 5.

Framework co-founder SJ takes the reins for Episode 4 of Yax Invites. Have a read of his bio below, along with some words about his contribution towards the mix series:

I am a 21-year-old DJ based in Manchester UK and co-founder of Manchester based collective and podcast series, Framework. 

My first route into electronic music was around the age of 15 where I started to get in to house music, leading me to gain a strong love for Chicago and Detroit house. Around this time, I basically used to spend hours listening to music on YouTube and through these algorithms I discovered tracks such as Black Russian and all DVS1s early Klockworks releases which remain some of my favourite pieces of music, with DVS1 being my idol and main source of inspiration, and essentially opened up a whole new musical world to me.

This in turn led me deeper into the electronic music spectrum, sparking an interest in Detroit techno, resulting in me seeing artists such as Robert Hood in my mid to late teens. Ever since I have built a strong passion for techno, delving deeper and deeper into the many different facets of the genre which has resulted in my current taste, revolving particularly around deep, sci-fi and mental hypnotic techno as I see this as more than just simply music, it is something much more powerful than that and the ability of music and sonics to alter your mind states and moods on the dance floor is something I find fascinating.

I love the concept of an extended mix series as I feel that extended mixes are the best way to truly portray your sound and tell your story, as opposed to feeling the need to hammer it out from the off which is the instinct that can arise with shorter mixes. 

For this mix I aimed to tell a story, weaving in different atmospheres and textures to build tension and have different twists and turns before ending on some groovier sounds and old school Detroit classics.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Stier, a DJ and Producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

"From Argentina, living in Buenos Aires, I was influenced by the synth sound of the '80s and '90s.

It was 2011 when I first dived into the universe of techno, getting to explore all of its subgenres, digging deeply to find the talent hidden within. I’ve always held that there can be no rules in music; everyone simply puts into it their own way of making and feeling it, and then their rhythm becomes what they feel it should be.

In 2017 I started making my own music, a work which remains in constant progress even today, rediscovering, reintroducing, and re-configuring the context. This project has developed different facets including a career of performer and audio producer by experimenting with a grat variety of musical streams. Every interpretation is done in order to create an atmosphere based on Techno and generative Art.

I’ve worked in collaboration with DifferentSound Records,TMM Records, Praxis Records, Synergie and many more. My main influences have been DVS1, Jeff Mills, Sleeparchive, among others. During this year, I’ve focused on shaping and perfecting my own sound as it evolves, remaining faithful to its characteristic sound of quest".

Dig deeper and deeper and do what you love until it kills you. Living by these maxims, Montero has captured the attention of the electronic music scene, taking his records to countries such as the UK, Portugal, Spain and Ukraine, among others. His devotion to music is unending, fueled by the hunt in the local record stores of Berlin, a city that has paved the way to fulfilling his dreams and has hosted his sets in most of their best and most notorious clubs like Tresor. Those who catch him live will not only notice the diversity of his track choices, constantly shifting between different sub-genres of electronic music, but also his ability to read the crowd - he doesn't just play what people want, he plays what they need . His understanding of how to adapt his music to the environment makes all the difference, a skill he says distinguishes many disc jockeys. Aside from deejaying, Montero finds solace in organizing quality club nights in Berlin through his Gaex series, which has hosted some of the best DJs on the scene. In 2022, deep in the north of Portugal, a new project emerged, Basilar. It's going to be an intimate techno experience with real underground artists. Juan curated the weekend line-up and is part of a great team of techno enthusiasts

[BIO]:
He made his debut at the Wrocław LVN at the beginning of 2018. The next stop was a performance at the iconic Das Lokal, from which the group of fans is still growing dynamically, along with a clear trace that it leaves on the club map of Poland.
“The fruit” of his activity were such series as "Ibiza Millenium", "Popperboys pres.", "Aurōra", or now the series of events / clothing brand "KWAS" and the project Syndykat.
He also carries out his musical mission as a co-host of the Strikt broadcast on the local Radio LUZ, where he tries to broaden the horizons of the audience with a digger sneak peek. From March 2022, a resident of the Wrocław club Ciało.
A lover of grooved, fast pace and energetic, emotional and hypnotic sounds. Apart from all varieties of techno, in favorable circumstances, he does not shy away from breakbeat, house or electro trips.

Born and raised in Italy since ‘98, Pyramidal Decode is the pseudonym of a Techno polyhedral producer. In 2015 he started a duo called “Ort3d” publishing his dub techno works. In 2017 he created Pyramidal Decode releasing his tracks in lables such as Subsist records, DeadCert rec., SK Black, Labrynth, Parabola records. and many more. His music can be hard to define, but it spaces out between ambient techno and hard industrial, coming out as a mind bending anxious calming trip.
