I like to describe my sound as gloomy, dark and with energetic, driving rhythms. Listening to all kinds of electronic music, visiting festivals, clubs and raves and, sometimes, nature inspires me.

We are a platform and network around feminism in clubs, culture and art. Along with three other great and very inspiring artists, I curate the Feat.Fem podcast series. The series is meant to broadcast FLINTA* artists from Leipzig and the greater Leipzig area.

I recently started looking into music production. I feel like this might be the next big project. Besides that, the pandemic situation makes it very hard to move forward with music and events right now.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭?
I was invited to play the closing set of the unofficial pre-opening of my beloved Institut fuer Zukunft (ifZ). Shortly before the event took place, we all got the message that due to new lockdown regulations, the official reopening party of IfZ will not take place. Everybody knew this was going to be the only party taking place at the club in 2021, therefore the atmosphere was incredible. I never experienced anything like that ever before in my DJ career.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Sibel, a young French DJ, co-founder of Metanoia Collective and member of the Unit Soeurs project (collective of female DJs in Lyon). 

Musician since her youngest age with the practice of violin, she became passionate about electronic music and Djing, which represents for her new means of expression. 

Her musical aesthetic is tinged with a sense of rhythm and groovy vibes, through a hypnotic, mental and dark techno. Her mix offers a variety of sounds, she delivers groovy percussion and mental techno, thought a dark atmosphere.

For our 38th episode we welcome this French Turkish DJ based in Lyon, France 🇫🇷 by the name of Sibel. She has been a musician for as long as she can remember and startes exploring different genres since her childhood. Now she’s exploring electronic music and seeking constant groovy vibes. Being well known in Lyon after having played in clubs such as Le Sucre, Le Petit Salon, Le Terminal and more.

Sibel delivers hypnotic, trippy and mental techno through dark atmosphere and groovy percussion. Primaraly taking inspiration from the Berlin and Paris techno scene. Yet also taking a lot of inspiration from artists based in  Latin America, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

Next to being a very active DJ Sibel is also a member of the Unit Soeurs collective which aims to promote female DJs on the Lyon scene, Sibel defends more diversity and inclusiveness in musical scene.
