Utopia Society presents: Utopia Tapes, a collection of podcasts from the most relevant artists who have left their mark on our project. This time we have Atonism.

This Spanish DJ and producer has been involved in the electronic music scene over the past 15 years, since he bought his first pair of vinyl desks. After a decade of self-taught sound design and a few years of harmony studies, his current productions show the great potential of this young electronic artist.

Utopia Tapes 04 | Atonism

For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @biancabadita to record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

Romanian-born and Montréal local Bianca Badita, delivers powerful, warehouse-primed techno. Her sounds can be defined as industrially potent and eerily hypnotic.
As the co-founder of SPACES Live Events & host of monthly web radio La Face B, Bianca participates actively in Montreal’s nightlife. Bianca had the opportunity to share the stage with Drumcell, Henning Baer, Overland, Kris Guilty & Montreal local artists.
Her selections lay a foundation that transports her listeners to a dark and cemented energy-filled space. A diverse arrangement of influences and genres ensures that audiences stay attentive and curious towards each of her performances.

For this mix, she wanted to raise awareness about Ukrainian refugees and the fact that war is still ongoing.

VSONNTAG is a DJ from Leipzig. She started DJing techno in 2019. In the meantime, she has already played in well-known clubs like Tresor and Rote Sonne. Since 2023 she has been part of Sinus Agency. Her tracks are constant and driving, with rhythmic elements. With a combination of energy and groove, she has conquered the hearts of the techno community.

Rill is a young DJ producer from Potsdam, Germany. He is the co-head of the Berlin based label Syntop. Undoubtedly, Rill get his inspriation from early 2010s techno. His track selection is atmospheric, yet hard-hitting and groovy. Through the moderate but precise use of synth & fx sounds he manages to add depth to his productions and thus creates an overall hypnotic experience.

MYRA is a Dutch Techno DJ and producer with pure passion and an ever evolving taste for electronic music. Her signature is up-tempo groovy rhythms with hard hitting percussions, and hypnotic atmospheres with a trippy touch that dives deep. MYRA is a graduate [2022] of the Electronic Music Academy at the conservatory of Amsterdam where she honed her musical and creative capacities. At the conservatory she discovered her fascination for analogue gear, that she now use intensively as a producer. Her artistic journey is just starting to unfold, propelled by a mindset and drive to push boundaries, and aiming to become a live act in the near future.

The following series was founded to acknowledge producers for their influence on shaping the sound in the electronic music genre while simultaneously showcasing the distinctive musical style of each artist, featuring both released and unreleased music in an all-original podcast format.

K92 aims to reintroduce a sense of mystery surrounding artists by bringing back the focus on the music itself and creating a blank slate for listeners to develop their own interpretations. As a result, the sets on this platform do not include any press photographs or biographies. Instead, each set has been personally signed by the artist to complete their signature sound.

Pdcst 井73 - Bianca Badita

Founding member of the SRIE Records label where he contributes his musical pieces and mastering knowledge since 2013 in Buenos Aires, Joel Pulso challenges the stablished structures in the musical framework since his style became more definitive, experimental, analogous and hypnotic, developing a unique imprint, based on minimalism and the collage method through home-made recordings.

His project and musical focus exposes the objective of immersing the listener on his semantic field, going from psychical and cerebral music, to the most sci-fi & loopy danceable style through his productions and sessions.

Pulso is part of the great Argentine scene providing musical legacies in renowned labels such as Subsist, Semantica, Float, Antiterra, Mindtrip, KEY Vinyl and in its own signature SRIE, where in each release along with Translate, deliver quality music and concept, giving rise to the best artists oscillating within their sound´s framework.

Since the end of 2022 a new label was born which is dedicated to the manufacture of cassettes and CDs called "Histéresis" where, together with his partner Uma Soundsystem, Pulso performs the position of mastering (Digital and Cassette) and graphic material for each edition, which are produced at home and manually and delivered to the globe; these editions can be found in his official bandcamp (/Pulsojoel) and in the official Histéresis account too.

In parallel to his music and minimalist style of work, Joel Pulso develops cover arts under the name of Fractales DIY, formerly publisher of fanzines and handmade books, currently factory that spits out the crudest and surreal analog collages which are part of the catalog that defines his vision as an artist.
