Sean Carlin is a 22 year old DJ based in Derry. Having only started DJing 2 years ago, he has immersed himself in his local scene across Derry and Belfast with a few notable appearances at OCD, Emerge Festival, and most recently Shine Belfast. 

With a love for raving, discovering new music, and passion for the scene as a whole, he delivers this mix of dark, hypnotic, groove-driven techno.

This week on FMB Mixtape Series, we’re happy to welcome the vinyl-only DJ & music producer, Tarkno, hailing from Australia. As always, we first caught up to find out more about the mix & what he’s been up to lately…

I am currently getting ready to head back on tour in Europe and play some exciting events. This means a lot of packing, organizing and planning has been taking place.

The mix was actually recorded back in my home studio, in Melbourne, Australia during my holiday break. This gave me access to my entire record collection, so I made sure to select some hidden gems that hadn’t made their way into my bag yet. 

The idea for this mix was to play strictly old school tools from my personal collection. All of the records resonate deeply with me, embodying the true sound of underground techno. While the mix has a consistent theme I made sure to include a few staple tracks that I have enjoyed playing out recently.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Showsif, a DJ & Producer from Ireland, now living in Sydney with a passion for electronic music.

During his recent move to Australia, Joe has already made his mark on scene playing club nights for Black Noir and Submerge in Sydney. As a producer, he has released a hard techno EP on the 712 label on Soundcloud.

"For this mix I've put together a blend of some of my favourite techno tracks, ranging from new school to old school, and groovy to ravey. Eubo is a Glasgow based vinyl DJ and producer with a love for the old school sound.

Since attending his first few events in 2018, his interest in electronic music developed to DJing, and later on, producing tracks in his spare time.

Having recently released an EP on Feedback Recordings, his productions don’t show any sign of slowing down, with multiple other releases in the coming months.

Resident DJ at Berlin's wild parties Stimulation, the Human Experiments journey began with attractions for orchestral, cinematic and industrial sounds, which heavily influenced his creative style. 

Born in Paris and now calling Berlin his home, he combines these elements with minimalism. Giving a leading role to the groove of the tracks he plays during his sets allows him to immerse his audience in the middle of a deep and hypnotic techno ritual.

The project is transversal in terms of genres though. He has a fluid and diverse selection of music that he curates for his sets, ensuring listeners are always kept on their toes.
