‘Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently’ — this is the principle that Yazad Karai, better known as dj yAzz, has always believed in! Hailing from Mumbai, the commercial and creative capital of India, dj yAzz’s passion for music gradually turned into his profession. From swanky club arenas to moving atop a truck and playing at various religious events, this talented and ambitious DJ has done it all! He specializes in a number of genres, from retro-rock to house, and from hip hop to Bollywood.

From his childhood and teen years itself, dj yAzz loved listening to music. Unbelievable but true, he wore the big shoes of a ‘DJ’ at family functions and friends’ parties ever since he was in school. Through the years, he developed and nurtured his taste for music by listening to various genres, constantly expanding his collection of music. This love for music, and the joy of seeing people groove to his tunes, further encouraged him. 

dj yAzz began his journey as a professional DJ in 1999, when he started ruling the minds and moods of people at private parties. Two years later, in 2001, he got his big break as a Resident DJ at Geoffrey’s – The Pub at Hotel Marine Plaza, one of Mumbai’s posh clubbing destinations. He played an eclectic mix there, from retro and rock to commercial music. 
And, that was just the beginning! He gradually started becoming a recognized and respected name in the clubbing and music scene, and has been invited to play at a number of high-end clubs, private shows and parties, and events. He has been a Guest DJ at several renowned pubs and clubs, such as Hawaiian Shack and Boothleggers (both at Colaba, Mumbai), Aurus (Juhu, Mumbai), and Kino 108 (Andheri), to name a few. His portfolio of private shows, parties and events, include playing for big names, such as the Shapoorji Pallonji Group and Castrol, and at esteemed destinations such as InterContinental (Marine Drive, Mumbai), JW Marriot Hotel (Juhu, Mumbai), Hotel Taj President, Radisson Blu Resort & Spa (Alibuag), and many more well-known hotels and venues across India. 

dj yAzz’s sense and love for music is further matched with his unsurpassed knowledge and expertise in the technicalities of sound and designing. A qualified Engineer in Sound Reinforcement and Studio Sound Recording, he doesn’t only play his extensive DJ Console and equipment, but knows it all inside out. Apart from performing at a number of clubs, hotels and venues, dj yAzz has also remixed popular Bollywood numbers and English retro songs at his studio, giving them all his own special twist and beats. 

dj yAzz’s creative journey goes a step further with his inclination towards the various other areas of art and imagination. A Diploma holder in Web Multimedia and Graphic Designing, he is also the Proprietor of NYUMARK Entertainment — a company that aims at serving its clients the best in the world of sound, lights, and set design. dj yAzz and his venture, NYUMARK Entertainment, are set to create a new mark in the world of music and entertainment.
