‘Inflatable Gravestone’ is the debut album by Mun Sing (aka Harry Wright).

The motivating force of the album is the sudden loss of Harry’s father in 2020. Their father struggled with substance addiction and the album explores ideas of 'spirituality' and the ‘higher self’ in relation to addiction and its parallels with the coping mechanisms of grief. It also aims to highlight the importance of humour and distraction when coping with loss.

Serving as a narrative for their own experiences, the album is largely built around club-centred tracks (such as ‘Spider’ and ’Squabble’) broken up by moments of yearning and reflection in tracks like ’The Poison Garden’ and ‘Helhest (Azrael Smirks)’ and moments of dark anguish like 'Inheritor' with its heavy slab-like chords and pensive piano. Flirting with awkward and suggestive rhythms, Wright deliberately suspends moments of resolution and groove in favour of drama and jerky, unexpected cartoonish humour, taking as much influence from the likes of the Art Of Noise as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. 

Wright rewards the listener with moments of clarity and introspection like flags on the journey, recruiting vocalist MX World to deliver lyrics and melodic ideas created by them and their father. Their father’s journals in rehab helped inform most of the lyrics. Some take whole sentences as a way to physically ‘give life’ to his words for the first time. The lyrics describe feelings, revelations and  apocalyptic hallucinations. MX World's clear, direct tone suggests folk music and the timelessness of the human condition.

The album concludes with the title track ‘Inflatable Gravestone’ which features a chorus of giddy manipulated laughter from Wright’s friends and family to a truly maddening effect. This is then resolved by bright and clear piano chords and the sound of Wright’s father breathing in his sleep. A deeply affecting and personal record with corkscrew twists and turns and a healthy dose of absurdism.

Assyouti (he/him) is an Egyptian DJ and producer born and raised in Cairo, a bustling city whose perpetual chaos and overwhelming noise pollution have been channeled into the artist’s unique music productions, developed around endless warping and manipulation of rhythmic and vocal samples. Now based in Berlin, Assyouti has been bringing his remarkable mutant bass music around local clubs as well as the most renowned festivals for the scene such as Uganda’s Nyege Nyege and Berlin’s CTM. After his debut EP "Shakhrama" (High Digital, 2022), and the follow-up “The Disintegration of Eric Omelette” (Shepard Tone, 2023), we’re beyond excited to present his next endeavor called “Kraken Sight”, releasing July 5th on our platform and marking our tenth outing so far.

Keeping up with Assyouti’s trademark feature of arranging broken rhythms, deranged percussions, and heavily distorted bass into articulated sound aggressions, the release is composed of five tracks sketched with a harsh industrial-infused sound palette, and refined through the surgical juxtaposition of tension, sudden release, and further sonic assault. Kraken Sight describes the descent into a dangerously dark ocean, inhabited by lurking creatures ready to swallow the listeners in the bottomless, obscure depth. Masterfully managing to convey an ever-present tension, Assyouti’s latest effort summons oppressive and abrasive soundscapes to lead to inescapable feelings of unease and discomfort, where light struggles to infiltrate and brighten the black, desolated abyss.

FLORAS is the new album from katharsis founder jjjacob, releasing on May 21st to mark the five-year anniversary of the label’s first output. A celebration shaped by time, patience, and transformation, FLORAS is an assemblage of seven tracks - each with its history. The oldest dates back to 2018; the newest bloomed only months ago. Initially intended for other projects or collaborations that never fully took root, these compositions have been reworked, reimagined, and refined - transformed by years of quiet attention. Stylistically, the release moves between the physical and the introspective - crushed drumbreaks, poignant basslines, grand synth melodies, and obscure granular vocals.

Each track is like an ancient, fluorescent flower rediscovered in a distant cave, alien in form yet deeply familiar. Cyclical in structure, they mirror the seasonal processes: emerging, flourishing, decaying, returning. There’s a strange botanical logic at play, as patterns and shapes reappear like genetic echoes, and even discarded stems sprout new life. Melodic ideas and textural procedures reverberate across tracks like shared ancestral material, connecting them like a hidden underground network. Some tracks still bear traces of feedback or collaboration that never fully materialized - ghost limbs and branches that helped shape the whole.

Built from ambient textures, hard-hitting percussion, and sonic details that reward deep listening, FLORAS is a meditation on growth, time, and potential. The release reflects not only a shift in jjjacob’s personal process, but also a new chapter for katharsis itself: after five years of near-monthly releases, the label now turns toward a slower rhythm - giving each release more space to breathe, settle, and take root before moving on.

Raraku marks a striking debut for the label and the first full-length album from Tāmaki Makaurau based artist Eli Høff.

Steeped in atmosphere, this work is a powerful ritual. Each track moving with the weight of ceremony, part procession, part invocation, drawing the listener through windswept terrain and ancient percussive rites.

Shaped by deep, pulsing rhythms and a whirlpool of psychedelic textures, Raraku is a hypnotic embrace meant to be played loud, with care, surrounded by the canopy of Aotearoa’s forest.
