Después de los dos primeros lanzamientos de 2021 de Veneno, el tercer mes del año no se podía ir sin uno nuevo. San Francisco based record label Roam Recordings celebrates its 100th release with a compilation from beloved alumni and new artists offering original work spanning darker shades of disco, cosmic techno, psychedelic, and acid house. What started as a group of ravers in the mid 90s that roamed the countryside (mostly in the US, Canada, and Mexico) looking for parties has evolved under the direction of its boss Jason Peters into a record label featuring a diverse array of internationally known artists. The intent of the record label is to continue the journey in search of new sounds while honoring the past. The Roam 100 Compilation is a milestone in that journey. It has been arranged to be enjoyed from beginning to end and to be rifled through at will.

The newest remix installment on La Pochette Surprise Records comes with 2 remixes for Anna Wydras "I Wish You'd Stroke Me Like You Stroke The Dog". The pop artist just released her album "The Absurdity Of Being" and now remixes by Freakazzé II and Cynistry are about to follow up and add their own interpretations upon this song about unfulfilled sexual fantasies.
Freakazzé II came up with a straight forward remix from the darker side of disco adding some bounce upon the dark and dreamy vocals. They stay true to the melancholic and dark atmosphere of the track by adding some synth voices and some drums that make you step on the dancefloor.
Cynistry is gliding into glitchy drumsounds carrying the beautiful voice of Anna over some dark synth sounds. Having the keys as a constant element of the original song gives a hypnotic drive to this halftime hardhitter. The dreamyness of this piece pulls you deep into itself and brings you back with a different feeling of your own surroundings.

Kicking off the New Year by announcing: "Nube Diamante," a collaborative single EP featuring an insane talent combination between Andrea Lacoste Mystery Affair and Azaria. The release is set to drop in the end of January 2023 and the original is sure to be a floor banger with a spectrum of sounds and lyrics that unfold like an exciting experience.

"Nube Diamante" showcases instrospective personals with peak time elements, a piece reinterpreted via outstanding remixes from some of the hottest names among the indie dance / dark disco platforms. CHAS remix is a tropical trance with latin  touch, powerful bass and cowbells, then straight from Guatemala, Fabio Me Llaman Soltero brings to the table a  neo dpop psychedelic pachanga driven by antagonic grooves. PREMIERE: Andrea Lacoste, Mystery Affair, Azaria - Nube Diamante (CHAS Tropical Horror Remix)

The acclaimed Catalan DJ and producer Esprit Divers is back with "Sanasana," the name of his latest single, which comes accompanied by three remixes, the first by Curses' Venice Arms side project and two versions made by the in-house producers Theus Mago & Moisees.

Esprit Divers, also known as Coyu, has been very active in recent months, and his most recent collaboration with his remix of Sierra Madre's "Cumbres" has been a success. Now, he returns to Duro with "Sanasana," a techno cut that features chopped vocals, revealing pads, and synthesizers that drift you away, while the rhythm keeps you in a trance state.

The first remix, made by Venice Arms, the alternate project of Curses, is forceful, aggressive, and booming. With a retro-futuristic vibe, it's full of resonant synthesizers, alarms, and lasers that take you to another dimension.

The final two remixes, made by Duro's founding artists Theus Mago and Moisees, are equally impressive. The first is a powerful, incandescent, and acid cut with techno and rave influences that make you feel like you're at a warehouse party. The "Fluffy Mix" * that closes the EP, also made by Theus Mago and Moisees, takes you on a dreamlike journey with its resonant arpeggios and sedative pads that transport you between clouds and colors.

Alvaro Cabana, long time established producer and Rotten City Records founder teams up with latin american artist Balam, Mijo, Fargo Deviati, Julian Sanza & LaFrench Toast to present  his Psicoactive EP on Kaputt.wav.

Affaire Tropical made with Argentinian mastermind Balam, blends the strident rhythm and synths of Alvaro with the melting  trippiness of Balam, followed by Fargo Devianti, up and coming producer from Mexico which has already done a name by himself while also counting with Mijo who coined the name od Tech Mex long time ago, Ritual De Lo Habitual it’s just what anyone could expect, a peak hour transient trance. Slowing down a bit, Alvaro Cabana & Julian Sanza, which are already known in Kaputt.wav as a winning team showcases in Second Hand Mirrors why. And last but now least, Alvaro teams up with a long time DJ and producer from Colombia called LaFrench Toast with “Mazmorra” a driven, synthfreak anthem for the dance room.

Wasting Time

I-Robots presents his 2020 "Frau" remix package, featuring 17 new versions divided into 2 parts. Each artist worked at the top of their games to make this an incredibly special record in which we see the original being taken freely in many interesting and different directions. Released in 2004, "Frau" to date is still one of I-Robots’ most popular works. Having as sources of inspiration the classic Charlie’s "Spacer Woman" and other pearls from the Italo golden era, it was immediately supported by IDJ Mag, Ivan Smagghe, 2Many DJs, Radio Slave, Sven Väth, Tiga, and Felix Da Housecat, just to name a few.

To review, we were given the innovative and acid remix made by Belgian duo Marching Machines. With a musical history that spans over 2 decades, their works can be found on important labels such as Wrong Era, Correspondant, Rotten City Files, and Nein Records. 

About their process, they said they got creative, isolating and editing a lot of sounds. “Even though it seems like we gave the track a headfuck, most sounds do come from the original record in some way. We changed the lyrics a little, now they refer to our love for sci-fi movies”, they said.
