A music junkie at heart it was a natural progression to want to share it with others . My music passion is as strong as ever as is my appreciation of different music styles but still with a deep affinity for psychedelic music, leftfield and eclectic sounds. I have shared my music on dance floors large and small from major music festivals
here in Australia to intimate club gigs and house parties. I have always played music I love and currently present a weekly radio program on 99.9 Bay FM in Byron Bay and I am involved with a live music platform www.buskanova.com that is launching this December. I have worked in the music industry for over 15 years with independent record labels and distributors and have presented radio shows here in Byron Bay and Melbourne for close to 20 years. I don’t play out nearly as much as I used to but love the opportunity when I do and believe it or not this is the first time I have laid a mix down for others to hear and really appreciate that John gave me the opportunity to do this and the push I needed to do it. Mike Gregor aka Exiled from Culture is a Scottish based DJ Producer who has been in the dance scene since 1990, At the age of 18 he was cutting his teeth at North Scottish nights Sweatbox  playing along side Carl Cox and Sasha to name a few, before moving into production making tracks at Finiflex as and one half  90s dance act Universal who had a number releases on Red Ant Records all tracks charting in the mix mag update, plays on the essential mix and a Scottish dance chart number 1.  After spending a few years working for media tools in London supplying the dance industry with music equipment and building studios, he took time out of music and returning to open Tin Pan Alley studios in fife in 2009 and promoting the beatbox nights. He finally returned  to Djing in 2019 with a recent remix for Pete Bones with more music to be released this year.

Tonight we have a dj mix from musical duo Jezebell. 
Jezebell are Darren Bell and Jesse Fahnestock. They've been indulging in seedy sonics and illicit electronics since 2021, ping-ponging from lush Balearic edits to manic dancefloor cut-ups to acidic chug and anywhere else they want to go. 
Spring 2023 sees a run of Jezebell remixes for Perry Granville, Paisley Dark, When Disco Goes Wrong and Nein Records, and a very special self-released project in late April to set the stage for White Island maneouvers to come. 
Jezebell's mix for The Shizzle is manically eclectic, featuring indie dance and exotic dubs, thundering electro and pretty ambience, soundtrack jazz and electronic punk-funk, but it's Jezebell through-and-through. It also features some top-secret weapons that have never been deployed before.

Matt Gunn’s Report: Acid Baron Weekend 2022. 
We arrived early on Friday in bright sunshine to what I can only describe as the most relaxed entry to a festival I have ever experienced (and I’ve done a few!). The location is in the middle of nowhere and that was fine with me. I was hesitant as I’ve not done a Dj focused dance 3 dayer and thought I might get bored - but I was of course very wrong (I love it when that happens). This was the friendliest, most entertaining and laid back affair with great talent playing great sounds through a very loud sound system. I left not only with many new friends who I really do still see; but also with an inspiration to go do something event -wise. To make something happen to bring that community of music, fun, love and enjoyment together that I got in heaps from the Acid Baron.
I bloody did it too! - So thanks to all at Acid Baron, you made a real difference to me, you loud filty f***er of a festie!

EP04 is the latest release from a unique project that fuses organic biological data with cutting-edge artificial intelligence, exploring the boundaries of modern electronic music production. This four-track EP documents a deep dive into the darker, more intense side of minimal tech house.
The Concept: Nature Meets Machine

The foundation of every track on EP04  originates from a single source: a raw audio clip ("Clip 3") recorded from the bio-generated electrical signals of a living plant. This organic input was then processed and fed into an AI generation system, forming the core bassline of the EP.

The Experiment: Manipulating Harmonic DNA

The tracks on the EP are the result of a controlled sonic experiment. We maintained a consistent sonic template—dry, stripped-down production using classic Roland 909 drums and a driving 124 BPM tempo—while methodically altering the track's fundamental harmonic center: the minor key.

c3_10 (D Minor): A deep, focused groove that establishes a classic, reliable tech house foundation.

c3_9 (D Minor): A subtle variation demonstrating the inherent, beautiful randomness the AI introduces, even under identical constraints.

c3_6 (F# Minor): This track introduces a deliberate, subtle tension and an unsettled feel, designed for complex DJ transitions and extended listening.

c3_4 (C# Minor): The most intense and dramatic track of the set, leveraging a lower, richer key to enhance the perceived depth of the "underground" aesthetic.
Observations on the Creative Process

This release provides insight into the modern co-creative process. While we successfully achieved precise control over the rhythm, dynamics, and overall production aesthetic, the melodic and harmonic aspects that were left unspecified felt less refined. This highlights a crucial observation: true creative control in AI generation requires clear, intentional direction. The human touch—defining the intent and curating the final output—remains essential to the artistic outcome.
