Yeah, Arturo is an indie pop & alternative rock band from Memphis, TN. 

Lead singer and guitarist Alex da Ponte-Baack conceived the form of Yeah, Arturo back in the halcyon days of April 2006. Once Alex found drummer Chad Bloodworth, they took the scene by storm. 

Drawing on diverse influences and taking cues from history, literature, and culture, Baack’s lyrics are unafraid : of controversy, of change, of Webster’s Collegiate. In an era of lowest common denominators and unprecedented banality, Yeah, Arturo shatters preconceptions and replaces them with singularity.

Bloodworth lives up to his namesake, consistently pulling the very life force from his kit night after night. Tweaking bars, melting rhythms, and tiptoeing across percussion itself : these aren’t gimmicks, they’re tools of the trade. And Anderson never met a groove he didn’t want to take to dinner and a movie.

Released in August 2009, the five song demo Howl, in association with Echo Records, demonstrated how truly great recorded sound can be. Raw and moving, each song takes the listener on a personal journey of discovery that begins in heartbreak and ends in pure cool. 

Separately, the members of Yeah, Arturo are accomplished musicians, lettered scholars, and upstanding members of society. Together, they rock.
