First demo off of my untitled dream-pop-post-garage-punk-indie-rock-experimental-not sure what genre to call-project!!!

I started writing this song in 2015…when No Vacation went on a brief hiatus. 9 years later, I’ve decided to pursue a new chapter in my music career and revisit the time when I was "just writing" whatever felt right.

I have collaborated and received a tremendous amount of support from friends that are part of many bands I have been inspired by; so I thought it was fitting to share this as my first demo from this new project of mine.

LES PEPPER - Mock Duck (DEMO 2025-Unmixed)

The first demo off of my Cinematic EP “When Words Could Not Describe”:

This piece was written during a time when I didn’t understand how a period of intense emotions could be followed by years of apathy. Consequently, I could not articulate or even comprehend how I was feeling.
In an attempt to re-discover what it meant to “feel something” I would play piano and write themes that could possibly evoke these buried emotions.

I took these piano themes and would improv off of them live in hopes I would get a better understanding of the emotion I was attempting to express by asking those listening to share how the felt. I remember how validating it was when people would describe that it made them feel “x emotion". Even though I wasn’t able to convey my thoughts with words, I felt immense relief being able to communicate with music.

Help I'm Lost Under Water DEMO

This song was made in 2019 during a time I struggled being a nurse and witnessing the stigma many people on the providing side of health care project towards mental health crisis'. I experienced confusion, depression, panic and an indescribable amount of pain because I didn't realize the profession I was entering, which was meant to help others, was actually causing more harm to me.

Lyrics:

In my bed, I lay alone; I wait for you
I couldn't feel at home

Through the nights, I stayed awake,
I'd hope you wouldn't give and take with high

Fall asleep, I knew two would draw through the self mistaken time.
Wait for you to visit me; behind locked doors, I couldn't feel alive

Almost took my own...
Almost made the loved ones cry.

For a week, I was apart from my own bed; 
didn't feel a lot
Thought I should fake a cough to make it seem my illness had been caught.

If I couldn't change my own thoughts,
I would have to find my rocks.

Rocks that held me to a plan,
that fought with mine, but gave me a new start.
