Program note
The internet plays an important part in our daily life. Through it, people access most of the information which they need. Hundreds and thousands of pieces of information are segmented by different windows, apps, posts, etc. Pieces of information that differ in theme, style, and emotion are co-presented rigidly. This quintet combines various musical materials of heterogeneous features, such as continuous timbre vs. discrete notes, or ongoing process vs. stuck temporality, to depict the phenomenon. Creating tension and release through these materials, the composer portrays an anxious user who is overwhelmed by the information explosion. The faster he scrolls through, the more discrete information is. He can’t stop it and is swallowed by messages from all over the world.

樂曲解說
現代人的生活經驗深受網路影響，幾乎每天都須透過網路來取的資訊。海量的資訊總是以片段化的方式呈現在使用者面前，以不同的方式分割：電腦視窗、手機 APP、成串的貼文。這些雜亂的資訊，內容、風格、情緒彼此相異，卻生硬地比肩陳列。本曲用音樂來模擬此現象，將各種相異素材排列組合，其對比包括綿長的音色與強烈的節奏、點狀織度與塊狀和弦、時間感的連續與停滯等。藉由並列不同的素材，作曲者希望探索張力的維持與釋放，類比被爆炸資訊掩蓋的使用者，心中所生起的種種不安。資訊的使用者焦慮地瀏覽愈發離散的內容，他想停卻停不下來，最後被鋪天蓋地的資訊所吞沒。
