If you where lucky enough to grow up in NYC in the 90's. New York was the epicenter of Nightlife. With such clubs as The Tunnel, The Lightlight, Twilo, Roxy, Palladium, Sound Factory and many many more. The Tunnel was my home and my first Residency in NYC playing Chicago Hard house. Wow over 20 years ago, how time does fly! 5500 packed into this amazing venue every Friday. Saturday & Sunday night. I had to be only around 18 years old performing every Saturday in the biggest nightclub in NYC.

One of the best times of my life that continued for over 2 years while DJ'ing at the same time at the legendary Limelight on Fridays...Here is a glimpse into the beginning of Yentalbeats and as we have all evolved over the years. These times were timeless. Words cant describe what we experienced. If you know, then you know 🧐🧐🧐

Vinyl was king, We recorded and sold mixed tapes to make extra cash. Just two turntables, a mixer and a dual tape deck. As we rocked out to the underground sounds of Chicago Hard House & Hardcore. The Mayhem, The Gays, The Straights, The Bridge & Tunnel Crowd, The Club Kids & The Drag Queens. We all came together as ONE.

Never forget your ROOTS. Long live Tunnel & Limelight and all the other major nightclubs of that time that made New York City the kingpin of dance music nightlife in the world. Never to be reproduced ever again. I am so thankful these are my roots, as well as many of yours.

Original Yentalbeats here before I evolved into the man I am today.. It was so fun to be young and this was the sound that we all rocked out to every weekend at The Tunnel. The energy, the vibes. We went all night.........It's simply put Classic Cutz from a time long ago but never forgotten. If you know, well then you know........

New York City native Russ John Gold is no stranger to the underground nightlife scene. Owner & Founder of Stay Gold Records NYC. Residencies during the late 90's at the legendary Tunnel & Limelight under the banner name Yentalbeats and numerous others over a continuing 25 year career. Missions to the dusty desert of Burning Man & performances in Asia and across the United States. His unique mixing style and stage performance has allowed him to transcend over two decades of nightlife and music genres. Born out of the analog age, while consistently evolving in todays digital day. The future of sound, composed with an eclectic taste from the past.
