Days of Being Wild kicks off 2018 welcoming back french producer OFFSET to their imprint. Philippe Juven, that's his name, delivers three fresh cuts that will take you from a night drive back to San Junipero circa 1986. As always with OFFSET the sound is huge, machine cold but oh so human warm, perhaps exploring a more melodic or romantic side of the producer, definitely a nostalgic one. “Night Drive” with its robotic beat, syncopated bass and repetitive pop vocals drenched in reverb is reminiscent of these treasured 12” extended mixes found on the b-sides of your favourite techno pop band of the 80’s. You know the ones carved by Ship Pettibone and the likes and where you didn’t need to suffer the emo chorus of the original. “Chase” with its post nuke sequences is a trip straight down to your favourite video club where real size cardboard shapes of Snake Plissken and The Terminator were shadowy figures welcoming you to the sci-fi section.

We've featured Wayward on these pages before, and if early indications are anything to go by, this duo is most certainly set for the top. Having enjoyed something of a crazy 2017 (playing high-profile gigs at the likes of Secret Garden Party and Bestival as they went), the boys also enjoyed early success courtesy of tracks such as ‘Transcence’, which proved a massive hit on Spotify where it's amassed over 2 million listens since its release.

Following up the latter with the 'Alexandra' EP (which was remixed by the likes of Man Power and Hammer), the lads usher in 2018 here courtesy of another fitting summary of their talents. The beatifully named ‘Good Afternoon Mr.Magpie’ EP speaks volumes about the curious, meandering nature of their work, and with five killer cuts on show it’s a release that’s positively stuffed to the brim with classy, melancholic fare.

We’re particularly feeling the release’s finale, ‘Human Spirit’. A fitting example of everything that’s great about this burgeoning duo, its a heartfelt track that isn’t afraid to let its emotions roam free. An intoxicating and hypnotic cut, it’s a classy gem of the type that’s sure to lift your spirits this weather.

@morericerecords, an Asian based label created with the intention of giving talented heads in the east more of a platform is proving more than just a lending hand. Back with their second release after a blissful first, we're definitely excited to keep a close eye on the label & top honcho; DOTT. 

The Mah Noi EP embodies DOTT’s sound, which is deep, driven and moody, whilst keeping an organic twist throughout and clearly inspired by his home country, the key to setting the release apart. The careful and precise placement of vintage Thai samples gives it that extra flavour and mystery that can engulf the listeners and dancers, whilst the remix we feature cutesy of Eric Volta truly transports you to another dimension.
