Craving human connection, Jonas’s creative output has struggled over the last couple of years as he found himself cut off from all that inspires him. Heartbeat is the result of the world finally opening up. Jonas explains that “I was continuously hitting the creative wall in the studio, and I couldn’t shake it off! It wasn’t until I went away for my first club show since restrictions lifted back in November that I felt the fog lift! And then I understood myself better - the more I reconnected with people, the more I reconnected with creativity and I didn’t realise how much I was missing that over last year. Once I returned, I just felt like my energy and creativity was refreshed and Heartbeat was the first thing I had written in a longtime that felt like me”. Feverish and colourful, high energy synths result in a stirring melody cementing 2022 as the year a master of his craft returns to what he does best.

'Closing out a strong first quarter of 2022, Monday Social welcomes CANCCI back to the label for a new single. Based in Curitiba, the Brazilian's latest entitled 'Serano' finds that creative sweet spot between organic and tech-house. CANCCI's knack for crafting infectious grooves is at a premium here, as he lays down a hip-swinging framework, complete with flashing percussive arrangements, soulful vocal elements and fluttery synth phrasing. Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Sereno' is Dilby x Floorplay. This first-time collaboration proves to be sensational, as the duo opts for a deeper approach while staying true to the themes from the original. A robust yet roomy framework ultimately sets the tone for this floor rocking journey. One where the main break serves as an emotional apex, highlighted by fragmented vocals, galloping arps and hopeful pads, before eventually getting washed away in a rush of drums for a spirited drop and smooth final act.'

'Clear Mind' is the new release from Yet Records, by the hand of Augusto Gagliardi and Aske Izan from Argentina, a two-track maxi with overwhelming quality!

In the first cut 'Clear Mind' the main track of the release, refined deep house with oscillating synths and a rhythmic base with catchy percussions that lead you to paradise.

As the b-side of 'Clear Soul', a more minimal cut, we continue to hear a rhythmic base based on percussion, but this time with stabs rich in groove and an overwhelming break, wonderful.

Definitely a unique piece!

Following on from his 'Tired Voice' EP Reset Robot returns to Poker Flat Recordings with a new three-tracker entitled Duplicate. 

The man behind the moniker is Dave Robertson, Portsmouth based DJ/producer who has been honing his sound for some time - a perfect blend of crafty house music and slick tech vibes. 

With this EP he flaunts a lot of his signature sound - the title track grooves along nicely around a shuffling beat before building and dropping with maximum effect. 

Hyra has a more classic techno feel, the blippy groove compliments a Detroit-eque pad, before the track locks into its main section accompanied by a wobbly synth. 

Service, the third track sits somewhere in between the two - a thick synth bassline and propulsive rhythm track creating a heavy dance-floor heater.

Ringing in a major milestone in style, 2023 will see Lazarus and Crosstown mark  the 20th Anniversary of the label with a series of celebratory projects unveiled in the lead-up to summer, with ‘CR20 The Album’ set for  release on 12th May 2023.  

“20 years ago, I dreamed a dream of creating a family of like-minded, crazy individuals from all corners of the planet - releasing  music to the world and making people dance. That dream was Crosstown Rebels, and this year we are 20. Over these years, I have  forged beautiful friendships, discovered very talented artists and tried my best to help, advise and support some of the most  colourful characters in dance music. Crosstown Rebels is more than a record label, it is family.

Opening the package, Lazarus’ own 2020 collaboration ‘Into The Sun’ with regular Crosstown vocalist Jem Cooke is given a cosmic rework  by Johannesburg’s Major League DJz, while Jamie Jones’ slick ‘Paradise 2011’ is stripped back and given a new lease of life by the  hypnotic and heady sounds of Art Department. Opening the B-Side, Dennis Cruz brings his percussive Latin-infused signature sound  palette to Chilean musician and producer Pier Bucci’s ‘Hay Consuelo’, before Audiojack’s ‘Feel Good’, another standout collaboration  alongside Cooke, is taken into synth-led territories as Michael Mayer reaches for an evolving bed of captivating tones. 

The second half of the project brings more excellently remixed material, both new and old, with GRAMMY-winning DJ/producer Black Coffee  turning his hand to the label’s first release of 2023 in Made By Pete and Zoe Kypri’s emotive ‘Horizon Red’, unveiling reworked melodies and  sparkling keys as he delivers an interpretation of a track which has featured as a staple in his sets. Next, the project welcomes Adam Ten &  Yamagucci’s playful yet off-kilter and wonky ‘The K Dance’ which unveils itself as a production perfect for those late night hours and early  afters, before Ellum boss Maceo Plex’s ‘Together (2011 Mix)’ brings another lost production to the mix with a driving and zipping ride through  sugary synths and soaring leads. To close, Tibi Dabo turns his attention to Guti & Dubshape’s absorbing ‘Every Cow Has A Bird’, delivering a  nimble minimal-led trip through lush pads and crisp percussion to round things out in style.
