An ambition for self driven electronica coupled with his determination to be different has resulted in an artist who doesn't look to follow or replicate, opting instead to create his own niche in an ever crowded market. Its these very traits that made him the perfect candidate for <a href="http://www.facebook.com/fridgejetblog">YFH Audio's</a> first release, slated as a free download for May 21st. The Echelon EP features six tracks from within the Yumø labyrinth, all complimenting one an other in a bass and funk infused harmony. "I’m inspired by a lot of shit from hip hop, club music, electronic, jazz, Pacific percussion and my tribal roots" he told us in an interview late last week, further explaining "Even the weather can help shape the sound of something I could be thinking about".

Douster - I think the whole EP is really well done and versatile. My favorite is Purple Lady!
Klipar (Zombies For Money) - OMG! I completely love this! For sure I'm full supportive on this one! Love all the vibes. I'll play for sure all the tunes! 
Sampology - Really really feeling this release, great production. Digging all the tracks but my favorite is Shotta
Krueger - Dope man! Some feel good tunes ready to heat up the club just in time for summer!
The Phantom - Nice feel. 'Midnight social' and 'Smokescreen' are the ones for me. Kudos for using the sax in the first track
Dooze Jackers - This release is phattttt
Big Dope P - Hey I love it and I will play it!
Squelch & Clap: - Very Nicely done. If the label is half as good as the blog then we are in for some real treats. Midnight Social is the one for me.
Bosstone - This is crazy, love the feel of this EP. Gonna have it on repeat for sure.
Antiheros - Some really interesting atmospheres and contrasting samples. Big things are on the horizon for Yumo.
 Wolfwolf - Nice release! A very international sound that would go as well in a London club as it would on a beach in Thailand.

Yumø - Echelon EP Teaser (YFHA-001)

Iggy Azalea has had a whirlwind past year in the US. From dumps of rap beef to the almost incomprehensible speed in which her accent was Americanised, people haven't stopped talking about her (for both the right and wrong reasons). She's just dropped her latest track which is a collaborative effort with Mike Posner (you'll recognise his voice 'Cooler Than Me' and 'Please Don't Go'). We actually like it for the most part, with some cool backings over her lyrical flow and a softer chorus as Posner steps in. We haven't been sure about some of her latest work (her collaboration with Aoki and Angger Dimas was painful), but it's safe to say she's making it big in every way she can. Expect a hot film clip to drop for this audio sometime in the near future.

Both innovative and unique in their own right, the two have piloted unique warpaths across a prospering land of bass-ridden electronica. On one hand, French Fries has used his undeniable talent for groove and percussion, while on the other Justin Martin has stamped his authority over thick basslines that make girls panties drop.
