A regular on Mango Alley in recent months, Forty Cats makes her Meanwhile debut with the hypnotic “Therapy”. Through a glittering array of white-noise effects and stereo-panned arpeggiated phrasing, the Russian artist combines a shimmering sonic palette that filters its way across 7-minutes. Waxing and waning with ease, a standout motif also appears at intermittent intervals to create a familiar aural echo on which to pin Forty Cats’ production prowess. Remixing GMJ’s “Mood Medicine” in June 2021, Paul Kardos returns with the dynamic and elegant “The Producella”. Immediately striking with its aural melange, a hefty kick transforms proceedings as an acetylene-edged lead cuts through shuffling percussive hats. Evolving powerfully, a counterpoint glissando melody provides a subtle shift in emphasis in the second half as Kardos creates a real head-turning track full of meticulous detail and technique.

Weaving a magical spell on Proton Music, the twin-track "Divine" EP was another notable highlight in the career of Italian producer Andrea Cassino. Heating up the northern hemisphere autumn with its warm melodic sequences, Yin and Yang return to the track with remixes from Turkey and Dubai.

An accomplished DJ with residencies across the Middle East at Pacha Ibiza Dubai and Trilogy, Indian producer Ejaz Ahamed is an artist who oozes charisma with his sets alongside Maceo Plex, Sasha and a guest mix for John Digweed on "Transitions 610." Establishing a production career has been met with no less success as Ejaz continues to carve out an impressive portfolio with a clutch of releases on the likes of Hexagon Recordings, Qilla and PHW Elements. 

Already taking time out to remix Erdi Irmak's "The Hit" for Yin in July 2017, Ejaz Ahamed now follows up with a reworking of "Divine" that bears all the hallmarks of his distinctive club-oriented sound. A chugging bass groove provides the foundation with a cleverly programmed rhythmic framework wrapped around it. Developing gently, a swathe of white noise effects and intricate percussive cadence bookend a gloriously stripped back breakdown that glitters with Cassino's distinctive melodic motifs to provide a strong aural stamp to Ahamed's "Divine" reworking.

Greek wisdom ripples across Lake Kerkini to recognise "The Rise" of Simos Tagias. Melodic shards resonate through the cool mountain air and jagged rhythmic backdrop juts out among the rocky outcrop. Yin and Yang (n.) - the concept of duality forming a whole. A fundamental premise in Chinese philosophy now transposed to the electronic dance industry through the creation of Proton "Editions". Through encyclopaedic knowledge of the 2,000+ strong Proton roster of labels Tripp Baronner has envisioned a new concept of the principle of seemingly polar opposites, coming together as interconnected and independent universal forces - life and death, the dark and the light: one complete entity. 

From a passion for underground progressive house at opposite ends of the audio spectrum - the deep, shadowy atmospheres to the blissful, shimmering melodies, "Yin" and "Yang" were born in an effort to represent this phenomenon in musical form. Each release will provide a single remix of an existing Proton roster track for two inextricably linked labels in the form of a light (Yang) and dark (Yin) edition. Released on the same day, a strong contrast in styles will thus serve to complement each other and nourish the whole.
