Originally released on Forescape Digital in August 2018, Jamie Baggotts and his "Sacrifice" EP showcased the UK producer's strong production credentials in the trance arena. As Yin and Yang now return to the track, remixes from Maltese and Iranian artists make for impressive new interpretations.

With over 20 years experience in the world of underground dance music, Paul Hamilton's prowess as both DJ and producer saw him win a prestigious global DJ award in 2005, impressing the likes of Sander Kleinenberg in the process. A resident DJ across the "superclubs" of his adopted Dubai home including Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen and One Love, Hamilton's production career is no less impressive. A regular on a host of high-profile imprints has seen him amass over 300 production credits with work signed to Balkan Connection, ARVA and an October 2018 track for Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital as part of his "ADE 2018 Sampler." 

Following a pair of Yin remixes for Sapiens & Springa and Rick Pier O'Neil in 2017 and 2018, Paul Hamilton now returns to the label with a groove-laden interpretation that impresses with bouncing bassline and rapid-fire hi hat cadence. Building enticingly, the sumptuous chord progression so pivotal to Baggotts' original cuts through the rhythm section in unhurried fashion, coupled with intelligently placed additional production material from Hamilton's infinite arsenal. The result is a dark and atmospheric offering of typically high quality.

Yin and Yang (n.) - the concept of duality forming a whole. A fundamental premise in Chinese philosophy now transposed to the electronic dance industry through the creation of Proton "Editions". Through encyclopaedic knowledge of the 2,000+ strong Proton roster of labels Tripp Baronner has envisioned a new concept of the principle of seemingly polar opposites, coming together as interconnected and independent universal forces - life and death, the dark and the light: one complete entity. 

From a passion for underground progressive house at opposite ends of the audio spectrum - the deep, shadowy atmospheres to the blissful, shimmering melodies, "Yin" and "Yang" were born in an effort to represent this phenomenon in musical form. Each release will provide a single remix of an existing Proton roster track for two inextricably linked labels in the form of a light (Yang) and dark (Yin) edition. Released on the same day, a strong contrast in styles will thus serve to complement each other and nourish the whole.
