In the early moments, just a stir of wind clues you in, a distant murmur of impending storms. And then later, in the midst of tempests unimagined you learn what you are made of. Storm after raging storm...Yet somehow you recognize your state of mind was the key, and what you tapped your heart into.

Your state of mind is honed by life's storms. How imperative it is to know the Way through the torrents to reach that sanctuary providing Truth and Life.

The title track to the forth-coming CD. "Back To The Start" is a song I'd written back in 1988, one where the lyrics have only become more meaningful throughout the years due to continuing social issues and my own personal struggles.  "Back To The Start" has many meanings for me. 

On 11/11/88, my best friend, Rodney Carter, passed away. Does it matter that i mention he was black? Skin colour never mattered to us, race never entered our conversations. We were friends. Why does the rest of the world not get this? Why is irrational fear in adults still an issue after all this time? Why is friendship so rarely put out there on the news, in our conversations?

i can't help what my best childhood friend would have said if he were still alive 4 years later knowing of my attack by 4 men just days after the Rodney King verdict and the ensuing LA riots in 1992.  And i wonder what he would have thought of my lyrics and feelings within "Back To The Start". It was written with all races, all peoples, and myself in mind, and i've been yearning ever since to release this to the world...

Love? Music? They have no colour unless you push to make them so. But then again, such a narrow perspective, suffocating and unrealistic never pushes our very real "human reality" and really has little to do with love at all. 

And music, well...If it's promoting love, romantic and otherwise, i'm firmly for it!
