This weeks guest mix is from Italian come Berlin musician Carlo Maria. Before relocating he spent time studying sound in Cuneo, Bologna and at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague. A main inspiration for his current sonic research is the feedback process between humans and machines in music making. As a result of this and failed attempts to produce functional music, he released his first EP “Subject to Drift” on SØVN records (May, 2016) followed by the brooding “Kenk!” (August, 2017) on the polish label Brutaż.

Since 2017 he has been one half of Punctum, a collaborative project with Caterina Barbieri. Punctum’s debut album “Remote Sensing” (May, 2017) has been released on Berlin’s imprint SUMME and presented live at Nowhere Festival (IT) and The Long Now, MaerzMusik (DE). He joins us with a live set at arkaoda Berlin for Yasuo Sugibayashi & Tako & Izabel & Carlo Maria on the 14th of April.
