MAUGLI blends vibrant sounds and driving rhythms from all over the globe. With a background as a drummer and of various styles, his genre-bending music blends sampling and recording into a lively collage. His crisp arrangements balance an electronic yet organic feeling.
His debut album “Alba” (translated from Italian as “sunset“) is inspired by traditional music and the dance rituals of various Afro cultures and their diaspora such as capoeira, work songs or gnawa.
While seeking to translate their spirit into the present day, MAUGLI combines these elements with electronic music, wobbling synthesizers and stomping beats.
“Ladainha” is a soulful homage to the capoeira culture featuring Professor Chipreu PDM and "Baksheesh" to the rich American blues tradition, with hypnotic synth riffs and chopped up guitar licks resolving in a south african chant (recorded in the late 1950`s). “Mizan” opens with a pounding Guembri (a traditional gnawa three-stringed lute) accompanied by it’s descendant the ’banjo‘, allowing the sampled berber vocals to shine through.
“Rawa’s” striking guitar riff is set up against biting synth blobs and piano chords, Nigerian fiddles and chants that swing us deeply into the groove.

Raw and dusty - the feeling of dusty old swamp blues. The title track itself travels back to K2W0’s roots in blues. The fusion of distinct electronic grooves with bluesy harmonies gives the track a fierce and energetic dancefloor vibe that keeps us bouncing and bouncing till the very end.
While the track ’Swamp Blues‘ is an extroverted piece of energy, ’Absence‘ tells an introspective story investigating absent-minded states and the longing for a significant other that is not here. Being absent allows you to escape from stress and negative experiences. You may enjoy the feeling of freedom and independence that comes with being absent and not being tied down to specific obligations or responsibilities, but there is a tipping point where the absence of other(s) and absent mindedness become annoying.

We are glad to present the remixes pack of «@nikosh
- Kima» EP, where four distinct artists bring unique interpretations to the
original tracks, each adding a fresh sonic perspective.

@erhanyilmazedits takes «Gallo» into more profound, meditative territory,
transforming it into an entrancing 4/4 electronic journey. Hypnotic rhythms and
immersive textures pull you in, creating a groove that subtly takes over, making
your head nod in sync with its pulsating energy.

@jonasfasching brings his signature pumping electronic drive to the «Gallo»
remix, shaping a bold reinterpretation inspired by the original piano sample. He
builds a captivating atmosphere through an eﬀective chord progression, later
expanding it with an expressive jam session on the «Novation Peak», adding layers
of evolving synth textures.

@turuanasi delivers a joyful, dance-driven rework of «Lunar,» infusing it with a
soulful touch. A beautifully expressive trumpet solo intertwines with warm
«Rhodes» electric piano chords, crafting an uplifting groove that invites movement
and emotion in equal measure.

@amu_amu completely reshapes the «Kima» track with a deep, atmospheric
sound design. Layering recordings of external synths and intricate FX, he creates a
slow-burning, hypnotic downtempo trip. The track flows like an endless train
through dark and mysterious soundscapes, with the «Arturia PolyBrute» and
«Novation Andromeda» lends organic instability to the textures, resulting in an
experimental, otherworldly ambiance.
