After a long wait, ‘Patience,’ Yngcult’s first single of 2021 has arrived. Combining nostalgic elements of their signature male + female vocal arrangements with sequenced analog instrumentation, the sonic landscape is filled with colorful riffs and hard-hitting four to the floor percussion. ‘Patience’ lyrically explores the perspective of a lover waiting until the right moment to be with their partner. Yngcult has been featured on Indie Shuffle, EarMilk, and Spotify’s Fresh Finds, and they are currently working on a string of singles that will be released this year.

After a nearly 2-year performance hiatus to focus on the sonic and narrative contents of the album, “Retro\Fortune” is the official re-awakening of YNGCULT. The concept behind the album and its title speaks to reverting to something or someone from the past, and the proverb “fortune favors the brave,” meaning that one’s success can be measured by the risks they are willing to take.  For Lee and Roberson, this proverb rings true as the duo reverted to their musical roots and influences — igniting their passion for taking musical risks and thus creating the epic sound for the album.
